Ultimate_Game Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Both Sehwag and Raina managed to bag a pair this series, though both of them were as different from each other as chalk and cheese. Whereas Sehwag bagged a King's pair in the 3rd Test getting out first ball each time, Raina bagged a pair in the 4th Test by actually spending more time at the crease than Sehwag did the entire series (almost) :hysterical: Which pair do you think is worse - Sehwag's or Raina's? I would go with Raina as Sehwag got out before he or anyone knew what was going on whereas Raina struggled so much that you actually felt sorry for him - and that too against a spinner!!! He actually made PK and Mishra lok like Bradman re-incarnates :cantstop:
pinkfreud Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Sehwag just got back from an injury. What excuse does Raina have?
urbestfriend Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Sehwag! Raina got poor decision twice in a row..So It doesn't qualify as pair.
Ravi. Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Sehwag. Raina never looked comfortable but got bad decisions in both innings.
Ultimate_Game Posted August 22, 2011 Author Posted August 22, 2011 Sehwag! Raina got poor decision twice in a row..So It doesn't qualify as pair. Well he still pottered around for 44 balls without scoring across 2 innings.
Spiderguy252 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Sehwag's second one was one of the most foolish shots of the series. And that's saying something.
yoda Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 So we've gone from comparing legends and ATGs to comparing pairs. LOL!
urbestfriend Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Well he still pottered around for 44 balls without scoring across 2 innings. SO what? He was playing to save a match! Moreover swann is turning the ball and playing against the spin is suicidal, so he was trying to play in front foot and straight as much as possible. Just unlucky to get bad decision in both innings/
Rahul Dravid Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 RAINA. Sehwag's sucked too, but atleast he just came back from injury and wasn't fully fit.
Ultimate_Game Posted August 22, 2011 Author Posted August 22, 2011 So we've gone from comparing legends and ATGs to comparing pairs. LOL! That's how much the mighty have fallen that we have been reduced to discuss which pair was worse instead of comparing which 100 was better :hysterical: Sums up our series perfectly and what we have had to put up this tour.
vvvslaxman Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 No pair is good . Both yielded no runs. WHat is with comparison.
Ultimate_Game Posted August 22, 2011 Author Posted August 22, 2011 No pair is good . Both yielded no runs. WHat is with comparison. Just the aesththetic beauty of the innings on offer I guess :giggle: I have seldom seen such diametrically opposite innings for a pair in the same series :--D
FreakazoiD Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Sehwag. Raina never looked comfortable but got bad decisions in both innings. The umpire felt sorry for him and gave him out. 0 of 50 balls wouldn't look good on a batsman, would it
achilles Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Raina. This is what happens when worthless vissil phodu's crash the queue.... they get anally raped and so do their fans. Not surprising to see all those vissil phodu's underground these days and having no face to show or admissions to make regarding their misjudgements.
ensd2 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Sehwag has worldwide reputation , for being the most dangerous test opener of his generation , a king pair from him is inacceptable . wheras raina is a newbie
Karan114 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Its a bit like making a choice between eating my **** or someone else's ****, really.
Karan114 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Sehwag has worldwide reputation , for being the most dangerous test opener of his generation , a king pair from him is inacceptable . wheras raina is a newbie This "most dangerous Test opener of his generation" averages 20 in New Zealand, 25 in South Africa and 27 in England. Put him on a pitch with a little bit of movement and he is as dangerous as a Pakistani opener.
