For the first 3 Tests, I felt really bad when we were getting pummelled. To be honest, by the time this Oval Test came around, I couldn't care anymore whether it became 4-0 or not. The only thing for me in this Oval Test was Rahul Dravid's batting. For the rest, it was a forgettable last Test in a very forgettable series. It is not just the 4-0 scoreline. It is the manner of capitulation, the scale of the defeats. Let's not forget that England won the last two Tests by an innings after declaring their innings. 710-7 and 591-6. If they hadn't declared, it would have been even more embarrassing.

Pain I was watching the final with hundreds of other fans. When Dhoni hit that six, someone smashed the glass in the crowd. One piece of that glass cut my feet and it was bleeding. At that time I ignored it. That didn't stop me from going out and joining the celebration with other 2000+ people. I spent whole night outside with that cut. Even at least for 2 days, I couldn't feel it. It took more than a week to heal properly. Now this has been a week, when I'm staying at home whole day. Nothing physically has happened to me, but I feel the more pain than ever. Probably one of the disappointing month of my life. :(( :(( :((

Even the second Test defeat was a slaughter...we made less runs in both innings combined than England made in their second innings.

Even the second Test defeat was a slaughter...we made less runs in both innings combined than England made in their second innings.

You can compare whole team with single batsman of opposite. India's score in an inning was often comparable with top-scorer of England in an inning.

Okay we need to stop equating the two debacles. 1983 West Indies is one of the all time greats. Marshall, Holding, Garner etc should never be mentioned in the same breath as Broad and Trimlett. In 1983 Kapil Dev took 29 wickets on dustbowls of India, Gavaskar and Vengsarkar faced the barrage of pace bowlers and succeeded many a times. This was capitulation of highest degree against the team which is hardly one of the all time greats. Stop pulling 83 team down just because this one sucked.

I am not comparing the losses, but saying that after a World Cup frenzy, we definitely look complacent in the other games. I agree that Windies were far more superior than this English side, but the way we lost - the comprehensive factor of such losses makes me wonder whether we played that poorly or we weren't ready for the series? Whatever the reason, England clearly looked a far better side in the competition and deserve to win 4-0. :two_thumbs_up:

Has to be one of the worst month for us in Tests, we have lost tourneys plenty of times and have gone through whitewashes too, but the fact is, this it was the best team in the world b4 this series.

Are you sure about that? Indian bowling comes nowhere near Australian bowling. Batting might be better, but batsman are not in form for many months. I believe India will struggle against Australia. They whitewashed Pakistan whose bowling was very good. In India they were 1 wicket away from drawing the series. Most of the Indian fans are not rating Australia because they lost 3 matches by innings to England. But England was too good for them and Australia is still dominant at home. On the other hand India is not dominant at home and average outside India.

We will not win in Australia. Might be lucky to get out with a draw max.
