I remember calls were made that Yuvraj should be dropped just before world cup cuz of his slump in form for 1-2 years and guess what who turned up for India in the tournament? Most Indian fans are really fickle and they make the same player hero/zero in matter of 1 game/series. Many made Dhoni legend after world cup win, now he is useless player in playing XI. He has proved himself at Interntional level, going through a slump, he needs to be backed.

Look, I never said that he was a brilliant captain, I always said that "A captain is as good as his team", and once the team starts disintegrating, there is very little that a captain can do. Here, the cool kaptaan was clueless, he didn't know what stung the team. He made some ordinary decisions, some poor field placements and defensive tactics to go with that. When we were at full strength, anyone could have captained us and got us to No.1. Veeru, Gauti, Sachin, VVS were in Top form with the bat and the bowlers led by Zak were doing a fabulous job. Now, the opening pair was not settled, Zak was out in the first Test itself, the senior Pros didn't had much success and the team has looked out of sorts. What has changed ? Has Dhoni become uncool in just one series? the fact is - he wasn't cool, it was the team that was doing so well that he needn't take any pressure, and that showed on his face. But now, everything went wrong and people blame him? And you think the man with the midas touch has just lost his charm. If you drop him from captaincy and get in Gambhir as most people are suggesting, I don't think it will have a massive change on results if we play the same way as we have had. Still a change in captain would mean, a different leader, a different mindset, a different analysis and more importantly a different bloke to depend upon. I do believe Gambhir has all the qualities of a captain, but its just the injury worries that makes me think twice or thrice before posting here. If he is injured say for a Series, who will captain the side ? Dhoni again ? That doesn't make sense. Its better to let Dhpni captain and the coach must tell him about some aggressive tactics and more importantly about the definition of the spirit of the game. he seems to have misunderstood it. Dhoni may not be ideal for overseas tours when the ball swings an seams. i am cool with Dinesh Karthik in his place and let Gautam take the responsibility of the captaincy. I am sure Dinesh karthik would have done a much better job than Raina an Dhoni - the T20 rockstars.

+++ No point sacking him as captain because of this debacle. Yes he sucked, both as a player and captain, but acting on a knee jerk impulse will only make matters worse. In the long term though, I see Gambo taking on the captaincy reins. No other bloke is suitable enough to lead India.

Dhoni is the only option we have. Gambo misses every alternate series, so don't even think about it. Dhoni keeps himself fit, he's gained a lot of experience as a captain. Cut him some slack. PS: He needs to stop chasing the balls that's a mile outside the offstump ffs.

I never recall Gambhir getting injured in the past..
2010 - 2nd test vs Aus 2010 - 2nd test vs SA in Durban 2010 - 2nd and 3rd tests vs SL 2011 - West Indies Tests That's tests ALONE. Don't get me started on the ODIs.

What do you mean by b4 this series? Isn't he still best captain in terms of win % or W/L ratio even after this series?

Guys, the problem is not Dhoni as a captain, the bigger problem is cna he hold his place in the side as a wicketkeeper batsman in TESTS.

Correct, this is the only major issue and even there I don't think he has a problem with pace or bounce. He is mainly troubled by seam so that issue may not crop up everywhere. Dhoni needs to regain his confidence as a captain, 4 test defeats is bruising for any Captain.
