Varun may bowl at 140 or 150 at this point. It does not matter. With all this Tontee Tontee workload ahead he will slow down a good 20 kph the next few years to preserve himself and then we'll be looking for that next pacer again. This has happened so many times in the past, why do you guys fall for this each time ?

He is the fastest bowler by now India has ever produced in history, may be Srinath comes close in 1996 but that was when Srinath was already had 5 years of international experience behind him. If people think Ishant, RP, Pathan, and Sreesanth were genuine fast bowler than they are wrong because these guys never bowled quick in domestic cricket. Munaf has bowled some quick spells but those too were limited to the peak speed of 145, not 153 which he has already clocked in domestic cricket. This is the reason to have hopes that he will maintain his pace and team management wont burn him through rubbish matches.

he was soo ok for :dd: :((
He did petty for a debutant in all 3 matches IMO, economy rate was less than 7 where other bowlers were thrashed in every game and that was T20.

He was tough to get away for most of the batsmen. There are very few who comes out exceptional from their first game, especially in a T20 match. Dont expect too much, he is just a kid. Let him develop his game with Indian team and contribute in the wins.

Phew ! Lets get one thing clear, are we looking for exceptionally skilled fat/medium fast bowler or just an out and out quick bowler ? Just be sure, because I feel we just need a bowler who can rattle a batsman for sheer pace. And not bother about line and length and all that crap ! These things should be tackled by the bowler on the opposite end !
