When I'm stuck in a queue or in traffic, I just pick up a and go year by year into the past upto 1983...I end up recollecting atleast 15 such combos and what happened on those days. Also used to dabble in cricket statistics, storing them in my head, like most of you....stopped after I started working. [[Not a special talent by any means...."Conducted" atleast 20,000 cricket "matches" in my lifetime using Book Cricket, Safety Pin cricket, Button cricket, dice cricket, Calculator cricket, finally ended up writing a decent Test/One day program to satisfy my urge to follow a cricket match during off-seasons.
