Magneto Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 As of now they are last in their group and are fighting with Haryana and Gujrat for the relegation. And for going through to Quarters, they need to beat Baroda by an innings and then also hope that the match between Haryana and Gujrat doesn't result in an innings win for either side! If they just beat Baroda, they get 5 points and reach a tally of 13. Baroda is on 13 too, but Bengal has a higher quotient, so they'll get through (I guess). Yes, the Haryana-Gujarat match should not have an innings victory on either side. But an innings victory is anyway just a ten percent possibility on these flat tracks.
msb1991 Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Wonder what more Dinda can do to be in the reackoning for the Indian team. I hope this is Raja Venkat's last term as selector. Have always been a bit of a fan of his. However, I don't think he has been doing tremendously well at First Class cricket up until this season. The guy has reasonable speed and gets a good deal of swing, I think he has what it takes to succeed at Test cricket. I think he is one worth sticking with in ODI cricket. Like Aaron and Yadav, he can bowl 140kph. If they are given chances for the reason they can bowl fast, so should he. He is perhaps not quite as fast as either, but sharp enough certainly.
