I saw that video and I did not see any special wrist there, was just trying to clear Murli nothing else. His wrist was completely normal. They said and you believed. Even visibly there was nothing and why his elbow is not bent when he bowled legs spin? yaar you need to check his bowling earlrier in 1995-96 and now you can see the difference yourself. Why it is?
That Murali's wrists are exceptionally supple is no secret at all. That his elbow is naturally bent is no secret either. Ravi moved his wrists back and forth in the video and he did it quite fast. Do you have any evidence that Murali's wrists are normal just like anyone else's . BDxRhcpBZio Here is a video of him bowling leg spin. His elbow is bent here too by that small degree that was shown in the above video. -UUXgc1rLMQ

yaar Ganesh..I did not see any thing special wrist there in the video and you are talking about bent elbow. Elbow is not bent that much. They did not show how is wrists are supple. Anyone can do this kind of movement which was shown on this video, you too. Supple wrist is when wrist can be turned in round and this elbow bent does not have anything to do with his chucking. He bends it even more when bowling. Look at the pic posted above, both off spin and leg spin and see how much elbow is bent in off spin and no elbow bent in leg spin. This theory of his bent elbow has given more leeway to bend his elbow more that is why I asked you watch his initial bowling videos of 95-96 which was very decent action but as he was cleared by ICC he started bending it more since then and it got worst. Even in the video above showing his shoulder movements, he is chucking, look at 2:00 min and his elbow is bent too much more than what it is naturally. Also look how different his normal bowling action and when he bowled with brace around his hand. You can see there the difference. Look at with brace on how ball went down leg side because he could not bend his elbow. Ravi Shashtri is just there to prove Murli right. This was an exercise to prove Murli right on every account and I dont buy this. If Murli does not chuck then anyone dont. If you watch his old bowling before 96, you will see who it was so different then and now.

Yes Ajmal chucks but so does bhajji and every bowler who bowls a doosra But ICC cant disallow anyone to bowl doosra now because Murali was allowed to take 800 wkts As far as Akhtar is concerned he never chucked in his whole life his issue was hyper extension and he was checked several times but every time his action was found clean And when did Afridi became a chucker??

Harbhajan/murali/botha chuck aswell, no need to hate on ajmal, everyones chucking these days. Although if Shahid Afridi is being accused of chucking, how can you chuck leg spin?
Ask Shahid 18 till I die Chuckridi and u may get the answer. And u gotta be kidding me if u say Shahid has not been accused of chucking. Go read some old newspapers.

I am on a limited broadband connection and not able to look at a lot of videos now. Will pull up the videos and reply to your points on them once I get back home on an unlimited connection. That Murali's wrists are supple is a widely acknowledged fact (widely quoted in news sources etc) - If you disagree, then the burden of proof would be on you to disprove it. So please provide some evidence to the contrary. After being called for chucking , he worked on his action quite a few times to make it permissible - that is why his action changed over the years. His naturally bent arm gives you the impression of chucking even if bowls deliveries legitimately. Just like Ravi showed, its physically not possible for him to keep his arm totally straight The new law allows for straightening of the arm upto 15 degrees which Murali falls under, just like most spinners. The doosra however is an extremely difficult delivery to bowl legitimately - the wrist has to turn the other way round to make the ball spin away from the right hander rather than into him. This can either be done with the elbow or with the wrists. My contention is that Murali's supple wrists (under discussion in our current debate) allows Murali to bowl it legally to a certain extent unlike Ajmal, bhajji and Botha who clearly chuck it.

Firstly, there is no proff even in this video that Murli's wrist is supple. They are bit loose but not supple or rubbery. You need watch what is rubber wrist which you can move clock or anticlockwise without any problem. There was a guy shown on ESPN sports center from delhi who had those supple rubbery wrist. He could bowl doosra without any bend. They were moving in both direction. This is not the case with Murli. Video did not show this at all if he had. A

Yes his arm is bent, but just a little bit, around 3-4 degrees not more than that, but when he bowls he bends his arm extra more than what it is bent naturally, it gets pretty much 50-60 degrees or more of bend. Bent elbow does not allow him to bend it more deliberately.

. yes laws are 15 degrees now, but to me he bends it more than 15 degrees. Bowling tests wont let you know anything. You need to test the bowling videos of matches. Like pics posted above. You can see h ow much bend that pic has, looks pretty much perpendicular.

amidst all this who chucks or who doesnt,I always wondered so what if a spinner chucks,it doesnt make the delivery impossible to play.it(doosra) is a variation that international batsmen are expected to read n top batsmen do read it.as long as a spinner bowls below certain pace it should be fine. with pacers I understand it can be dangerous n gives virtually no time to react to batsmen, but with spin thats not the case

but why give spinner wrong advantages.

how is it wrong advantage?just bcoz the law says so?as I said it just adds another variation which isnt impossible to pick. batsmen charge down the track, play switch hits n scoops these days, thats unfair advantage too,no?

but it is cricket not baseball where arm can be bent.

in basbeball ball comes in fast leaving no time to react n can be dangerous.that too from pretty close.only thing it comes fulltoss(dont know the rules so cant comment much:--D) in cricket batsmen have enough time to react.there should be no problem
