Mariyam Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 This is how I would rate them: Parthiv: 2/10 . No luck with the bat. And the guy can't field. Maybe we should just get him off the field when we are bowling and he isn't fielding. Runs very slowly too. Rahane: 2/10. Poor batting. At least he gives it his all while fielding. Dravid: 1/10. Unlucky run out. Wasted fielder. Raina: 6.5/10. Threw away his wicket when needed. Bowled and fielded well and sort of made up for it. A decent all round performance. Kohli: 4/10. This guy gets on my nerves these days. Flopped with the bat and fielded ok, but gave many runs by over throws. Keeps screaming at other players. Dhoni: 7/10. Batted and kept well. A captain can do only so much. Jadeja: 9/10. :two_thumbs_up: Ashwin: 8/10: A useful quick-fire knock and bowled well. We should introduce Ashwin earlier into the attack. Maybe even during the PP overs. English openers may not be able to trash him like they do our 'pacers'. Pravin Kumar: 3/10. Under utilized yesterday? RP SIngh: 2/10 Poor bowling. Sreesanth is a better option. Munaf Patel: 1/10. By far our worst player yesterday.
gaurav92 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 ^The lawyer definitely knows her Cricket well
rkt.india Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 ^The lawyer definitely knows her Cricket well 6.5 is a bit too generous for Raina. If he could have had partnership with Dhoni, end-score could have been a bit more.
gaurav92 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 ^His fielding alone can give him 5 points, and he really bowled well in the later stages giving away just 16 runs in 5 overs. otherwise the game would have finished way before it actually did :nice: Yes he threw his wicket away, but he did score 21. So by an large, the 6.5 is justified. Raina deserves at least that much.

And he saved quite a few runs fielding. But yeah, maybe 5.5 is a better score for Raina.
gaurav92 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 I am a welder. Huh? :hmmmm2: Whatever.... You do know your Cricket well and the ratings weren't biased :nice:
kabira Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 two things went wrong Rain at wrong time, both the spinners were in middle of very good spell. And Dhoni not using Raina for few more overs. But after being 60 for 5, and taking the game all the way to last over and losing by 3 wickets, I would say great job. we just need to win once and everything will fall in place. remember this is our A squad.

We expect more from him in batting. He has 6 years of experience now. He must control his game in ODIs if not in tests.

leon7766 Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 India keep getting beaten by England ,a team who dont really care about this form of cricket . Surely thats a bit embarrasing . To be honest I didnt really watch it much as I have very little interest in this inferior form of the game. what bit I did see was Indias fielding and bowling which was very poor but that Jadaja had a good game Mind you some consolation for Indian fans is ,you will be able to get back to those indian pitches that make all your players look brilliant and then you will be able pretend agin that this means your team are world beaters

This. No need to be over critical, this is probably first tour for the youngsters and the weather is not helping one bit. I am sure they would come trumps in the next few series. this was necessary for them to get their feet on the ground and start performing from scratch. After the World Cup win, the effort seem to have gone down a little. But with this tour, I am sure India would come harder in the next few series

We need to find fast bowlers. With these pace bowlers, we cannot win consistently whatever batting of we have.

One bowler cannot do anything. Fast bowling attack needs to be alround and only consistent pressure from both ends can manage to rattle a good and long batting line up. We need to find 2-3 young bowlers who can bowl decently quick and put some effort in bowling rather than lazy trams like Mooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnaaaaaaaaaaafffffffffffffff. The guys who are ready to bowl and are enthusiastic who enjoy their bowling. Likes Munaf does not enjoy their bowling. It is important to enjoy whatever you do.
Sachinism Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Top order played very loose shots. Should've fought it out as the pitch improved
Dravid_TheWall Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 If Sree had played in place of ineffective RP we would have won.
kabira Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 we need to go with 3 spinners, so Mishra comes in for PK...Varun for RP.
Dravid_TheWall Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 we need to go with 3 spinners' date=' so Mishra comes in for PK...Varun for RP.[/quote'] Mishra will leak too many runs. Ideally Ojha, Ashwin, Jaddu, Aaron, PK! Sham Ojha isn't in squad.

I always feel our strength is spin and their weakness is spin so why not play 2-2 attack, this is where an allrounder like Irfan helps as 3rd pacer and not Jadeja.
