He is not a natural stroke player. England wants too much from him. It's better to find some big hitters for last 10 overs than blaming Trott. He plays good enough during middle overs.

Its not everyone's cup of tea to score at 100+ SR every single game on these wickets. This is where Dravid has to commended, he has been the ultimate student of the game. RD's always willing to adapt to the requirements and put in the effort to suit the format. He seemed slow as well when he began but soon after was able to keep wickets, rotate the strike regularly & hit lofted boundaries. What a champion :hatsoff: Trott has the talent, some more effort and he can do it as well. What's with the comparison to Bopara :hysterical:

He is class act and dependable. What would you want this poor guy to do??....in 2nd ODI, he went for a rash shot and bowled out to jadeja and commentators started questioning his attitude and his exact role in the team..... Agree, England need some good power hitters around him.

However the theories used to excuse other batsmen when he plays one of his crawling innings are a bit tiresome. England's middle to lower order hasn't been good enough for a long time. Trott's inability to shift up the gears and pace innings' is ample reason to omit him.

He picked up 5 wickets in the practice game against Hyderabad but is just 21 years old and very inexperienced. I believe this is a tactical error by England. Edit : Not to add, the most attractive stroke maker Ian Bell doesn't get in a game!

He hasn't done anything in ODIs since his return. Not many players get 25-30 innings to prove themselves. If he couldn't take advantage of so many chance, then it's his fault. He doesn't deserve more chances at least now. It would be unfair to other players if they select him in this format.

I umderstand your point but even considering it Bell could prove a better option in India.
