Jadeja is a better bowler overall and a much better FC bowler. But the difference in terms of what they do in ODI's is marginal. Just look at the stats for the past 2/3 years for each.

Yuvi bowled total pies today. Long hop city. Yuvi is handly bowler but can be poor. Thats why with jadeja and yuvi in team you have more options if a bowler has off day. Having yuvi as 5th and only bowler is too risky, plus jadeja is better bowler anyway

That was Australia in non helpful conditions. This is India in turning conditions. Also, he got largely spanked in England too and didn't do much with the bat. Champions trophy is there also.

agree ... if he grows onto a complete package, all the more better for India But why does one need to grow at the cost of losing games for India? Do players like Rohit/Jadeja given umpteen chances before they mature? May be the selectors/system are to be blamed here..

Totally agree there. That goes for all players not just jadeja. If we just went by previous stats. ZK would never have made comeback after county stint Gambhir would never have come back after being axed for a year or so Laxman would never have made 2001 aus series team etc etc Players can go away and improve.

Right now, our so called main strike spinner, Ashwin is struggling to land 3 balls in the same spot and cant even trouble the likes of Root, Kieswetter on a track where the ball is turning and stopping and people here are still taking a dig at Jadeja. :hysterical: Our other "spinner" Yuvraj is bowling 2 to 3 half trackers and pies at the moment. With our spin bowling resources the way they are, Jadeja is a godsend.

So you dont think he has played well since coming back in to team against Pak? I think champs trophy will be perfect test for jadeja. We will then get to see wether he is worth place in team. Its in our interests to see, as he had been very good since ciming back in odi team, basically being mom in 2 of our last 3 matches
