We have seen dhoni always have preference of guys who lack in pace but who have swing or control. 1-Praveen kumar he did well in odi series in australia and after than has been ineffective in odis on flat surfaces still persisted for in odis. 2-munaf patel obviously lacks attitude but has control he had improved last season but now is back to his old lazy self. 3-Playing nehra and balaji-allthough selectors forced it on to him but why did he n ot play youngsters in place of them he was the one who left dravid and ganguly out of the team ,but he persisted with nehra and balaji instead of giving chances to young bowlers. 4-he picked unadkat ahead of yadav in test series in sa,which saw two careers off the track. 5-bringing back rp singh instead of a youngster and not giving aaron a chance 6-Sreesanth-he has handles sreesanth poorly,in sa not givign him a game in odis after a good test series ,also he had done well against nz at home in odis.under gambhir in odis in nz sreesanth did well.

Dhoni dropped the deck-hitting and bouncy Tyagi at every opportunity as he is not a star. A bigger name like Bollinger is not as easy to drop. It looks like Dhoni is playing with more than normally acepted finger injury.
