It certainly doesnt look like one, because i read it in a news paper, which i get in my home. Airplane engine failure lands team in Austria By Baidurjo Bhose in New Delhi AS IF the on- field drubbings werenÃÕ enough, IndiaÃÔ woes on their tour of England seemed to take a dangerous turn on Saturday when the flight the team was taking back from London made an emergency landing in Austria, owing to an engine snag. Speaking to Mail Today, a member of the team confirmed that there was an emergency after the flight took off from Heathrow Airport and that forced the pilot to make an emergency landing. Well after taking off from London we suddenly realised that the aircraft was losing altitude and although we werenÃÕ quite bothered in the beginning, we realised that the pilot was preparing to make an emergency landing, the player said. Stunned in the beginning by the developments, we were soon informed that the flight had an engine failure resulting in the pilot making an emergency landing. Thankfully no damage was done and everyone on board was safe. The turn of events resulted in a dayÃÔ delay in our departure and we finally left for India today. An engine may fail to function because of fuel starvation, fuel exhaustion, foreign object damage, mechanical failure due to metal fatigue, mechanical failure due to improper maintenance, mechanical failure caused by an original manufacturing defect in the engine or pilot error. In a multi- engine aircraft, the failure of a single engine usually results in a precautionary landing being performed, like landing at a diversion airport instead of continuing to the intended destination. I read reports today, which said, the Plane the Team was returning in from Heathrow had an engine failure, and they had to do a Emergency Landing in Austria. Later they boarded another plane from austria. Reports said, they were pretty lucky, if they would not have been able to Safe Land in Austria, they would have crashed.
Any plane that does not land safely would be called - crashed. I have experienced the same thing - engine failure - in my first international flight. And as IKnowU wanted to say, (looks like) it happens more often than people think. Planes are designed to have 'backup' mechanisms, and Engine is one of it.

Actually it wasn't engine failure. The pilots have just revealed that Dhoni asked that the plane not exceed 130kph. Of course they couldn't maintain altitude at this speed and had to land. Just joking :P
