^:hatsoff: P.S.:Why wasn't the MOTM given to Joshi??
Because he didn't start the collapse. He benefited from the fiery spell of bowling by Aggy and Srinath. Look at the fall of wickets. SL were 6 down at 47 with Sir Aggy taking 3 wickets, Srinath 2 wickets and 1 runout. They had already broken the back of SL batting. I didn't expect India to win the match after posting 179 on the board. Srinath started aggressive spell of bowling. He made a loud appeal on very first ball of SL inning. Umpire turned out the appeal and Srinath was bit angry. Other players asked him to calm down. Second ball and Sanath was clean bowled. Srinath and Agarkar were running hard and doing their best to make life difficult to for SL batting. When I see modern day Indian pacers like RP who just walk in their runup to bowl 80 mph dollys.... :(

Agarkar's record against SL was excellent...I noticed that before he came into the picture,Jayasuriya used to annihilate Indian bowlers and SL had some wood over us for a few years post 1996...Then, Aggy started taking quite a few early wickets.. He was a decent enough bat as well (his 5 ducks notwithstanding :)) I read somewhere that he once hit a double century for Shardashram (not sure which school) but Tendulkar told him to stick to bowling . He was promoted just once to 1 down and he scored 95 in 100 odd balls as well, has a century at lords and the fastest 50 by an indian in LOI (dont know if that record still stands).. All in all, very very underrated strangely. His figures in LOI are better than Zaheer's.

Agarkar, ultimate choker under pressure. This man with all his phasst bowling tailunt has singlehandedly lost numerous games for India.Though he had the ability to bowl inswinging yorkers but he was very very inconsistent. P.S: Please read this Agarkar joins ICL :cantstop:
You are wrong there. He has won India a lot of games as well. Mostly, in matches that India lost, all bowlers contributed equally..Its a matter of perception. He was vastly underrrated..and could have been managed better

If only our young bowlers have the samefitness levels as Agarkar, we would be a much more consistent team. he wasn't exaclty a test match bowler, but an excellent ODI bowler despite lack of consistency. 202 of his 288 wickets were of top 6 batsmen (~70%).The same number for some other bowlers- Akram 347/502 (69%), Waqar 292/416 (70%), Mcgrath 276/381 (72%0, Pollock 293/393 (74%), Lee 259/357 (72%), Srinath 231/315 (73%), Zaheer 192/273 (70%) His strike rate of 32.9 is bettered only by Waqar, Lee, Saqlain, Donald, Ntini and Akhtar among bowlers with more than 200 ODI wickets. Sir Agarkar was an amazing ODI bowler.
