Ok Dude' date=' we watched the bowling and say what [b']" nechim took 3 wickets in 3 overs, well done. Hey can he bowl at decent pace, absolutely, Does he have variations , absolutely, then why don't we try him out, absolutely" this would be an extract of a conversation between selectors, if those selectors were not Indian. That's the Irony.
Dude I have no problem with these discussions on bowling. But I do think they are compromised too often by an obsession with speed guns rather than watching the bowling itself. Check out the ROI-Rajasthan match thread. In our desperation to unearth bowlers I think the mentality is all skewed. The only time I really take note of speed guns is to laugh at Vinay's 110 kph stock ball. Honestly I just think Abu Nechim was barely talked about yesterday but today in many minds he will be put on a pedestal just because of this.

Gayle can smash any bowler. He smashed Brett Lee all over the park in T20 WC in England for more than 20 runs as well. Gayle is a freak one of its kind like Sehwag.
thats not the point here... what nasreen says is selectors who watched Nechim today discuss about cn we try this guy/ give opportunity etc... as Multib wrote can anyone remember Broad..i agree anyone can come back...but one T20 match in a very favourable conditions where most of the bowlers bowled similer or better if you want pick a single guys ..its bit strange

It's not about nechim being in Indian squad but he should've been there in challanger trophy. People here are not reacting to just one odd performance in CL t20 , this was the point which posters here already made when challenger trophy squad was declared.

It is not desperation. I really don't understanding why having a fast bowler is desperation while all knows that having genuine pacers who can bowl good and take wickets are the key to any teams' success in test matches for a long time. All champion teams who dominated test arena had some genuine pacers in their ranks. This is not a desperation. This is an essential ingredient to have in the team to make a varied and effective bowling attack to take 20 wickets in a test.

The point is simple Nechim may not break HEAVENS, may not shatter batting lineups, may end up having 0 wickets in International games, if somebody see's some potential, he should be given a CHANCE. What he does with it is utterly unto him. The reason for obsession and excitement is, india is scarce in Fast bowling department, a bowler bowling at speeds unheard of often in the Games our Fast Bowlers play, whatever maybe the conditions, gives us an option to look at the bowler to see if there is any potential.

But Theron can bowl 140' date=' what are you on about yaar. Theron is fast medium. This is not the first time he clocked 141. His effort deliveries can clock 140s.[/quote'] Dude come on if you'd seen the delivery you'd have laughed. It was a Munaf stock ball at best.

You bought up Nechim's Stats when he got pounded, i bought up Munaf's when he was RAPED by sarwan, and he is still enjoying the Luxuries of the Indian Team.

:nice: good job' date=' well done!!! nice stats. well these stats were still not better than what vin ay's and PK's have. Moreover the upcoming fast bowlers are all from Plate division, not the Super League, there is a huge difference on the surfaces these people play on. So frankly i would not buy this.[/quote'] They are about the same as Vinay in OD cricket. As for FC cricket, well, Vinay has never been given a chance in Test cricket. Praveen has an excellent FC record and therefore he outbowled Ishant and Sreesanth in England. Did that prove nothing to you? Indeed, but the logic used by nsareen is that one game is enough for international selection. All that was done is that the logic was taken to the opposite situation/

I want fast bowlers as well.. I was only pointing out that arguments on these bowlers shouldn't be based on a few kph deviation on speed guns here and there. These guys will be dismissed as trundlers the next time speed guns show they're bowling 130. It isn't rational and isn't fair. It sounded like Yadav was bowling a good spell in the Irani Trophy game but the recognition was more that his speed had apparently dropped to 135...

Dude the excitement is because Munaf, PK, VK have never been recorded at 147+ speeds, that's all. Munaf came close only once in his entire career. The bowlers we are talking about , do it more often, hence the BLABBER.

Bra... i bought Nechims stats because you are are talking based on Todays stat of 3 overs and suggesting selectors to note this....so i bought a stat where selector may have wathed his performanec and decided let him give time till a day when he will take 3 wickets in a match... you won i lost...abu nechim is better than Munaf :two_thumbs_up:

Abu seems to have abit of zip , can improve from here, he should have been in EMERGING PLAYERS AND A TOURS, sREESANTH WAS OLDER AND SEEMED TO HAVE MORE TALENT , BUT WE ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENED , I AM NOT SUPER IMPRESSED , MAY BE A BIT.Everyone is tired of Unadkat's, Vkumar, RP'S WHO WAS OK WHEN FIT , PLUS THE INJURY TO OUR BOLWERS AND THE eNGLISH TOUR PLUS POOR SELECTION AND CAPTAINSHIP HAS FRUSTRATED EVERYONE ME THINKS.

Nechim was bowling 130s in the previous mathces. I just wonder if the management just wanted him to go flat out. If thats the case, then i am sure thats a good way of dealing with pace bowlers who has some zip.
