14 matches are played in the time of 50 days and one match has 80-90 minutes of fielding only. it means 1260 minutes( 21 hours in total). While in a test there are total 30 hours of play in 5 days and a player spend 10-15 hours easily on the field only in 5 days in comparison to 21 hours in 50 days. Bowling 20 overs in a day is more tiring rather than just spending 6 hours and fielding like a batsman does who only fields. Regarding injuries to SA players, freak injuries can happen any where.
what about Hudson's comments Regarding Realization ???

T20 IPL players have to deal wtih alot of pressure' date=' it is pretty easy to go for 20 runs in an over , games are very fast paced, even t20 takes a huge toll on the body and wears out players mentally, talented bowlers would rather prefer bowling in test's same for classy batsmen, I have seen more injuries in t20 then test's generally.[/quote'] Physical fatigue is a big issue than a T20 pressure. IN a test, bowler can get really physically tired and when tired physically, mental issues don't even come in question. Mental issues don;t give you injuries that is lot of bowlers have chosen to play T20s rather than tests because they know how tough it is to bowl long spells in tests. If T20 was so tough in terms of physical and mental stress, they would not have left playing test matches and chose T20 to conserve them. I Have been a bowler myself, did not play too high, but at college level, my brother has played at national university level tournament. The Sarul Kanwar who is playing for MI in CLT20, my younger brother has played with him in a local tournament in Paonta Shaib, Himachal, 2-3 years ago and I know where any player will be comfortable playing a test or a T20. It is always T20, an easy option.

Do you know how many players have left test cricket due to injuries in tests, no one has left cricket because of T20. You cannot do anything about freak injuries. Like Gambhir had 2 freak injuries in tests in England if he had those injuries in IPL or CL, everyone would have been after him or IPL and CL, but don't talk about that much as he had those in tests. Test cricket is much harder than any other cricket, that is why it is test of cricketer, fitness, mental aspect, skills, all are tested in a test to the fullest, fielding 6 hours a day, bowl 25 overs a day, and batting 6hours a day are much harder than anything in cricket. Mental pressure of T20 does not even matter when it comes to physical tiredness of test matches.

i am just writing T20 are more intense and create more injuries because of more matches...where did i told Tests wont create injuries.. i ma just talking about point of comparing people from past with these guys and mentioend these people has to play more Demanding matches now a days so keeping same expecatations is unrealistic.. But in wonder why u dont consider Hudsons comment...he himself a cricketrper once and merely suggesting they are Now realizing effect of intensity in T20... may be they also thought earlier its 4 overs..even after 16 matches it willn be just 64 overs...but now realizing the effects...

Well I am talking more in context of the long drawn IPL , CL T20 SO MANY MATCHES, EXTREME PRESSURE , MORE FAST PACED,ALSO EACH DAY IN THE PARK CAUSES EXHAUSTION REGARDLESS, THE AMOUNT OF DAMAGE COST INDIA HALF IT'S SIDE.I SEE YOUR SIDE, BUT I WOULD FEAR FOR MY BEST BATSMEN AND BOWLERS EVERY IPL SEASON WE MIGHT LOOSE A FEW PLAYERS DUE IPL.

Don't know..i don't find IPL and CL tiring or stressing. If that was the case, lots of cricketers who retired from test to play T20 would have retired. See this aspect and then say what is more physically demanding test or T20.

In his comments Hudson nowhere told that 20-20 is more strenuous on body than test match or ODI cricket. From his comments he seems to be suggesting that by playing IPL or CL, his players keep taking risk which is unnecessary and not worthwhile. Hasn't he clearly told that players are going and playing in CL where important fixtures like series with Australia is lying ahead. IMHO, in his statement he is clearly equating IPL/CL with unnecessary risk for players fitness.

will wait to see VA in few more games, hopefully MSD plays him, before calling his myth out. but today he didn't look 'genuinely quick' at all. god knows what he was 'holding back' for. if the argument is to focus on line-length, well that was never his strength was it? so then whats the point in doing a half-assed job. to be fair to him though he did get some lift at times. he should forget about line-length for now and really use his pace for mean yorkers and bouncers. if he can't even do that, all that pace is useless, or he isn't fast enough to begin with.

This guy is quick in the range of Shane Bond, I have seen couple of matches where his average speed for the day was 144, quite a few 147 k and highest 153.4 k , so no doubt he is quick , first match of this season made to sit out by Dhoni saying he cant bowl straight, he can for sure amp it up between 140 to 150 k, it was funny to watch the batsmen looking like they can"t even stand upto his pace.

let's cut them some slack. This is the FIRST match of the season. Anything above 140 is a fantastic start i would say as long as they remain accurate (which their figures do suggest).

Aaron and Yadav were disappointing today.............very disappointing...........not much pace to talk about.
did you watch the match yadav was unplayable at times and hit akash chopra twice on gloves averaged 138km/h in a 10 over spell with fastest being 143km/h and he looked much faster than that he was looking like 147-148 .

Add another name there Abu Nechim. Hitting 140 kmph+ consistently' date=' even though its just a t20 match.[/quote'] This guy was consistently bowling over 143 kmph today. But doesn't seem like he can do that for longer period of time. I dont think his body can support that speed.

But tragedy is dhoni will pick vinay kumar, praveen kumar and arvind as they swing the ball and bowl line length.

Yadav was clocking 145+ in IPL...........hitting 150ks.........He didnt hit 145 here. Varun:i dont think he hit even 140 on many occasions......

EVen in IPL,despite hitting highs of 151, Umesh was bowling at an average of around 140 . Take the average of Umesh' first 4 overs and it will be 141-142!! BTW how many domestic sides have got bowlers who bowl at an avg of 145+ in their domestic circuit? The little that I saw in English cricket, the likes of Finn and Meaker bowl at 85-86 mph in first class matches with a top speed of around 90-91 mph! Another fact, don't know how much doimestic cricket you have watched recently, but based on my exprience I can surely tell you, no other Indian bowlers have been bowling at an avg of even 135 in domestic circuit in the last 5-6 years. What we saw from Umesh and Varun was a lot of potential and they definitely look international class. May not be finished products yet but surely on their way. Hopefully the system given them enough encouragement to consistently improve and develop as a bowler.
