A young raw pacer, 23 year old. He has real potential, looking sharp on a benign. Bowling action is very strong and side on. But playing with 60 per cent fitness as he calls itFaisal was still extracting fair amount of pace and bounce from the patta track and forced the noted chipku of all time in Indian cricket,Sitanshu Kotak,to edge one behind the wicket.Faisal picked up another wicket in the same fashion in the same over and suddenly Gujarat-1 was back in the match.That Gujarat-1 eventually lost the match is another story but what was striking about this young seamer apart from his pace is his action which is a lot like the slinger from Sri Lanka,Lasith Malinga. Talk to him about his resemblance to the Sri Lankan quick,Faisal is quicker than his deliveries,to dismiss any copy cat work here. May be just,but if you look at the videos of Malinga and mine,you will notice that his body remains straight and the arm comes round while my body falls a little towards the left and my arm comes straighter than Malinga, he said and added that he never saw Malinga before he started playing cricket in Ankleshwar.As a village teenager,Faisal always kept away from any camp that was organized by the Bharuch District Cricket Association.It was only when he played at the university level that people saw him bowl and realized that this boy has potential, said his coach Ishtiaq Pathan,who cajoled Faisal to take the game seriously.He used to bowl wrong footed like Sohail Tanvir of Pakistan but his action was always like a slinger.I made him bowl right footed and as he was comfortable with his arm action,I didnt tamper with it much, added Pathan,who requested the Gujarat Ranji selectors to have a look at the boy. why can't you see? He is certainly looking quick, look at the track, it is track like we play in our backyards where ball does not bounce more than knee high and are slow, still beating the batsmen for pace and getting edges.

Until he goes in front of a speed gun, it is all subjective. However, he does not look 140kph to me.

Yes, I agree that we cannot actually assess without speed guns, but I am taking other bowlers in consideration who I have seen before with speed guns and he is certainly looking faster than all of them, Like Ishwar Chaudhary, Nechim, Shami and he is looking faster than all these 3 guys here in this video.

Look at those tracks. Not a spec of grass on it. No wonder none of our bowlers want to be real pacers and even if they are at a young age, they lose all motivation after bowling back breaking spells on these roads. This guy does look to have a lot of pace. Am no expert on cricket, but to me his action does look very prone to injuries unless he does lots of strengthening on his lower back and shoulders. But glad to see a young pacer give it his all in a club match.

He looks good , to me better then Sunil Sam overall, pace wise dunno,seems to hurry the batsmen.His career will be ruined if he waits for Gujarat call up, Baroda or some other state will be a better bet.His action is more upright then Malinga, taller and it is clean, if someone says chucking he does'nt know cricket.Thank rkt man u should be Indias bowling talent scout.

with al due respect RKT I find this usual reasoning from you......look at the pitch etc etc etc.......as very lame..... Lets be frank......a bowler is either fast or he is not........and edges are no taken alone by pace....you of all people must know it. As things stand except Yadav and Aaron....we dont have anyone who can bowl 140+ consistently....... Shukla will be a miracle if he goes from 131ks to 150ks...in 2 years.... Rest all are hype......we have heard it....seen it before...

Bhai this Dhudhat guy is looking quick. He is beating batsmen for pace many a times. And you may not believe but Rahul Shukla is quick. SHebby has seen him at Eden Gardens in the nets and he was faster than Aaron then and it is not 2 years ago, it was about 3.5 years ago in January 2008 when he was clocked 131 in the competition at the age of 17. If he has not had the pace, no one would have been talking about him. Quite a few plumb LBWs are not given by umpires in this video.

Grass overall is not a problem. There must be some bounce, but there is not. Why some one will bend his back on these kinda tracks where ball does not go over knee height? These kinda tracks raise serious questions over quality of cricket in domestic cricket and this is a BCCI tournament. This track reminds of our backyard cricket.

Both things are right pitches are absolutely poor, it's dust , clay, red soil, no bounce,sad for bowlers, umpires not willing to give lbw at all, very poor umpiring,batsmen also loose out as they start playing with their front foot across the stumps and found out at higher level , players like Uthappa, who plonk their feet covering the stumps and try to play a straight one square on the leg or regardlesss if the ball is directed towards the off stump , no wonder the batsmen average so high in domestic games.I for one cannot believe that these centers that get funds from BCCI will not listen to them and create sporting wickets which will raise the standard of the game, make games more attractive and bring out good talent not mediocre players with good averages.

Analyzed his bowling action a bit more, his left arm is falling too early that is why he is losing some pace but still bowling that quick is commendable. There is some work to be done with his bowling, needs to go a bit side on, his left upper body stays straight which is leading his left arm to fall earlier than I would like.

My action is exactly like him.. Though mix of Jeff Thomson + Malinga .. excellent for tapeball cricket where all i bowl is yorker after yorker though its bit harder to gain control in hard ball
