saneindian Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Those include WC 2011 and CT 2006 games as well' date=' right? [b']The last time they played decently against India in India was in 2002. We should have won that series 5-1 rather than it being ending 3-3. Lost the last two ODIs by 2 and 5 runs! Both the times, cruising in the run chase, needing 50-60 runs off last 10-11 overs with 6-7 wickets in hands and both the times choking perfectly to gift England a win. Badani and Ratra were woeful in the lower middle order and was in a way perhaps the trigger for Dravid's makeover as a keeper batsman in ODIs for the next 2-3 years..
Sachin=GOD Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Yeah. They tied the series 3-3 in 2002' date=' right? If I'm not wrong then it was initially a 5 match series and one match was added later.[b'] India were leading the series 3-1 and lost last 2 matches by 2 and 3 runs. and then Flintoff waved his shirt after knocking over the stumps of Srinath

Even in the last ODI, they were smashing us everywhere before an epic collapse. Sehwag-Tendulkar opening partnership killed them in a couple of games. It was a good series. :nice:

Cricket Tragic Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 oh yesss - I watched the 4th ODI at Kanpur where both of them murdered the English bowling and made around 220 runs in less than 30 overs Yep. And this is in Chennai. A bit different to watching Dropthiv and Rahane. :cantstop: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uU8uJopho8]Sachin 68 Sehwag 51 vs England 2001/02 - YouTube[/ame]
Sachin=GOD Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 ^I think this was the 1st series where these two opened together :hmmm:
Cricket Tragic Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 ^I think this was the 1st series where these two opened together :hmmm: Yep, this was actually the first match they opened together.
Sachin=GOD Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 ^and what a partnership it has turned out to be........
Rightarmfast Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 I would be amazed if England manage to win more than 1 game, in fact even winning 1 game Seems beyond them This series is just another familiar start for England in India. They are simply a pitiful, gutless, and talentless side. India are missing tendulkar, sehwag, yuvraj, Zaheer etc and they are still pounding them pretty effortlessly. How shameful. Their batting is weak, they struggle to clear the ropes, struggle to get to the spinners, play themselves in and get out easily. Their struggle against part time spinners like jadeja was hilarious, it's like they haven't seen a ball turn in their entire lives. Their bowling is utter garbage. This was like playing an associate nation in the last 15 overs, dhoni and raina were doing whatever they wanted to. They are incapable of getting batsmen out in conditions that don't allow the ball to do something off the pitch and in the air. Good thing Jamie handerson wasn't here, he would have out done his 96 runs off 10 overs in the world cup....LMAO And lastly, the fielding. They will no doubt complain about the grounds, but man are they **** at fielding. Pietersen letting a ball thru his legs for 4, and my fav highlight of the day - their south afrikan wicket keeper letting the widest of slow wide deliveries bounce off his gloves for four, wow. :two_thumbs_up::two_thumbs_up::haha::haha: Precisely ! Its about time these hired players are shown what they actually are...Sheeps abroad !
NareshK Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 England lost against Ireland and Bangladesh in the World Cup and we beat them 5-0 in the last ODI series in India. That's how pathetic they are. :hehe:
panther Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 there no good in the sub continent expected to lose even against india b
Crookbond Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Yep. And this is in Chennai. A bit different to watching Dropthiv and Rahane. :cantstop: Do you remember Snape bowling extremely slow about 67 mph?
Cricket Tragic Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Do you remember Snape bowling extremely slow about 67 mph? Yeah, I loved watching him bowl - a bit like Powar. :cantstop: I remember him beating Mongia in the air in the Kolkata ODI. It was a lovely piece of bowling.
Sundar88 Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 England lost against Ireland and Bangladesh in the World Cup and we beat them 5-0 in the last ODI series in India. That's how pathetic they are. :hehe: It was actually a 7 match series which was curtailed because of the 2008 terror attack in Mumbai, had all matches been played England would have been raped 7-0 for sure. I've always wondered why whenever England tours India the series is dubbed to be a low-key one, probably because they get owned every time whereas whenever India tours England it's considered a big series. People also tend to remember the results of a series in England more than a series in India.
