Cricket Tragic Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 There's no reason why England can't win this series 5-0. If they don't win handsomely then it could be a massive setback for them. There may be an upset somewhere and my prediction is 4-1, but there's absolutely nothing in the Indian attack to worry about. Gautam Gambhir comes back and he's a solid player who does a job at the top of the innings but if you look at the two line-ups - and this will probably upset our Indian readers - there's nothing for England to fear. England's problem is who to leave out. They've got seven batters and they can't play all of them. I can't see how they can possibly leave Jonny Bairstow out. He's had a sensational start and he's playing better than the rest. I also think Ravi Bopara is a certainty because he's been in really good form and bowls exactly what you want on these pitches. You can't drop the wicket-keeper or the captain and then Jonathan Trott bats at number three and scores runs; he's continued to do everything right. So that brings it down to Ian Bell or Kevin Pietersen. Frustratingly, I'd backed Bell to be top scorer but now I'm sweating on whether he's going to play! This is a really big selection for whoever makes that decision and I feel it would be a soft option to leave Bairstow out. He'd be terribly disappointed after all he's done. I also feel our attack is stronger than theirs. There's no Jimmy Anderson and no Stuart Broad, but I assume Jade Dernbach, Samit Patel and Graeme Swann will play. Many of my media colleagues would play Steven Finn because he can hit batsmen hard with the new ball and pick up a couple of early wickets. He's a sensational bowler and a shoo-in for Test match cricket, but my own view is that the faster you bowl it, the further they'll hit it. I think you have to bowl slow and that brings in Chris Woakes, who can bowl variations and also adds something with the bat. But I really don't mind what they decide to do because they've got such a strong suit. They can play who they like. :hmmm:
ganeshran Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Lets wait till the end of the series before making fun of Bumble. It isnt over yet. But his prediction is already wrong :hehe:
Cricket Tragic Posted October 17, 2011 Author Posted October 17, 2011 Even if England win the next 3 games, they only win 3-2. That is not a "handsome" win. It won't change the fact that he has massive overrated England. They're not THAT good.
Stuge Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 whatever ,his prediction is all wrong .So it doesn't matter now .
Laaloo Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 when the ball dont swing england cant win the ball was swinging and there was more bounce under lights so STFU
Trichromatic Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 It sounds like a statement made before ODIs in England. Edit : 4 days old article. :hehe: Both teams are massive home track bullies.
VRV Singh Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 He massively underestimated the legacy of fail for England in India. I think this was apparent to all but the giddy ones. Picking who they like indeed...
panther Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 the ball was swinging and there was more bounce under lights so STFU :nervous::nervous::nervous::nervous::nervous::nervous::nervous:
ganeshran Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 The problem is that the English commies got carried away after seeing the dominant performance of England at home and thought they would be able to replicate it everywhere.
panther Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 i though india would win the odis back in england before the series started
Cricket Tragic Posted October 17, 2011 Author Posted October 17, 2011 Has Sir ian Botham spoken yet? Yeah he's not holding back. :cantstop:

ganeshran Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 A lot of Indians are giving Bumble and Vaughan a really hard time on twitter. While they deserve the banter, people go OTT and turn abusive which is pathetic :headshake:
