ShebbySB Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Why he's not in the ROI squad? He's the most complete bowler in our domestic circuit. He's tall & bouncy, quite sharp, can move the ball both ways & got one of the best FC record on patta wickets. His record in FC:- Matches:-23 inngs:-38 balls:-3523 runs:-1947 wkts:-78 BBI:-6/42 BBM:-10/92 Avg:-24.96 Econ:-3.31 SR:-45.1 4W:-6 5W:-4 10w:-1 His record in List A:- Mat:-19 inng:-19 bowls:-888 runs:-772 wkts:-27 BBM:-5/44 Avg:-28.59 Econ:-5.21 SR:-32.8 5W:-1 He should always feature in Indian squads.Hope he prrforms well & gets his chance in the India squad in Aussie series.
MCcricket Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 He played part of the Ranji season bowled well ,then got injured, was in one of the teams for corporate trophy I beleive he is fit again. He should be seriously looked at for Indias future test hope with VRV also injured WHO HAS MATURED , not a one day or IPL bowler but wirth punting for in test He is quite tall with good high action, bounce , can crank it up to 145 plus , can seam the ball, was overbowled by UP then started his tryst with injuries, looks loose limbed but not too strong especially core also unfortunate enough to play for csk , so dhoni never plays him or indian pacers
Blue Panther Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 He is injured. Doesn't bowl at the same pace he used to bowl.
ShebbySB Posted September 25, 2011 Author Posted September 25, 2011 He is injured. Doesn't bowl at the same pace he used to bowl. Not really mate he bowled in 135-140kph range even in ranji matches.
rkt.india Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Not really mate he bowled in 135-140kph range even in ranji matches. yes he bowled brilliantly in the matches he played last yer in ranji trophy, needs to work on fitness.

Crookbond Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 Another season of FC cricket would make one more sure. Currently, just 23 FC matches or just 2 seasons.
gakgupta Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Seems like he spend more time recuperating from his injuries rather than playing real cricket.... Dude, get some fitness going. No amount of talent is appreciated unless you showcase it. Classic example is shoiab akther.
Stuge Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Our fast bowlers get injured than in process of recovery ,they drop pace to remain less injured ,and in turn most of them becomes slow medium bowlers .I hope, he doesn't become like one of those .
Feed Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Domestic cricket a good opportunity for me : Tyagi More... ' Domestic cricket a good opportunity for me ' Wajiha Shah Posted: Tue Oct 18 2011, Lucknow: Pacer Sudeep Tyagi was confidence personified on the last day of the UP team's probables camp organised at Lucknow for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The team will be leaving for Indore tomorrow for participation in the tourney. Tyagi feels that domestic cricket is now just the right platform for him to knock the doors of Team India once again. Talking to The Indian Express the 24-year-old said, I am feeling good after recovering from injury. I was doing well in the Ranji Trophy last season taking 18 wickets in three matches, before a shoulder injury put me out of action. I had to undergo a surgery in UK in January and the rehabilitation programme followed that. I still feel that had I not got injured then probably I could have played against West Indies this year. Tyagi who had finished as highest wicket-taker in his Ranji debut season with 41 wickets, said that for him the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and the Ranji Trophy matches thereafter are like an opportunity to knock the doors of the Team India once again. My strength is my speed and I will never compromise on that. The rehabilitation period has acted like a rest period. There is a feeling of freshness in me. I have fully recovered and I am fit. I have toiled hard at the nets and have also played in a couple of tournaments held recently like the JP Atray cricket tournament and the Corporate Trophy. I will go all out in domestic cricket as it is good platform to show your talent and grab the national selectors attention. With hard work, I could make it to the Indian Team once again, he explained. Regarding Uttar Pradesh team's bowling attack, Tyagi said that state team features one of the best pacers and spinners in India and hoped that the team will perform well in the upcoming tournament.
Sooda Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Great news, maybe an outside bet for Aus tour?? Depending on form of course.
ganeshran Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 I doubt he will be selected for Oz. We already have Aaron and Umesh whom the selectors are including in the squad as young pacers.
rkt.india Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 He may be selected if he does well and stay injury free and Ishant is is also doubtful for Aus series, IMO. Even if Ishant is selected, I have huge doubts he will survive the our with the kind of ankle injury he has. Zak and Ishant both are still doubtful starter for Aus tour. Hope, one of them gets fit and survive the whole tour.
kabira Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 well he should know what he is lacking to be consistent performer in international cricket. but to be fair, he hasnt played much for India.
ganeshran Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 We need atleast one of Zak or Ishant to be on that tour fully fit. Very difficult to win tests with a completely rookie pace attack :nervous:
Sooda Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 He has only had one ODI right?? And made one test squad I think. I hope he bowls a lot of overs and stays injry free for a while man. We need all the pace talent we can get. Might be wrong here but he seems to be a better long term international option than Varun or Umesh- from what little I have seen read they are bit more one dimensional than Tyagi?

He played 4 ODIs, one of which was abandoned. Had 3 wickets economy 5.23, on flat tracks of India and SL. But no test yet. Regarding comparison to Yadav, Aaron, and Tyagi. I think Yadav looks the best right now. Tyagi is good too. Aaron is still very inexperienced and will take at least 1 more year know what he needs to do to take wickets. Regarding, done dimensional thing. All three are not one dimensional. All three can move the ball away which is one thing a fast bowler must have and they can bring the ball back too. Tyagi specially has been very good with revere swing in FC cricket. That is where Ishant lacks because of bowling action. I would say Ishant is more one dimensional than all three bowlers.

RKT I have a feeling out of the three Tyagi is the best bet for the longer format. He may not be as quick as Umesh, but he does bowl in the high 130s and gets the ball to move both ways. He is also one of the few hit the deck pacers in Indian cricket. His biggest wekness is obviously his fitness. Hopefully in the last 9-10 months he has got stronger. If he is fit and doing well in domestic cricket, will give the selectors another very good option especially for the longer format.

IMO, both are good enough to play tests for India, then it is up to them how they perform. Both have ingredients to be successful.
Fontaine Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Sudeep Tyagi is one of those rare types that have excellent height, natural pace and a decent arm action. Guys like that (and Ishant) dont' come around all that often and really need to be developed and managed. I wish him the best because he's one of those bowlers that could dominate batsmen if he developds his skills and fitness.
