rkt.india Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Sachin rested for first three odi's Sachin ODIs khela hi kab after WC and before WC jo he is rested.
ganeshran Posted November 25, 2011 Author Posted November 25, 2011 because he is actually a good batsman. He is past his prime in batting and was never an above average keeper. Rather than going back to tried and tested mediocrity, we should look at giving a chance to Saha who is currently the potential successor to Dhoni. We will atleast come to know whether he is good enough.
rkt.india Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Looks like Viru and PP will be the openers and Rahane will be a bench warmer. Looks like, PP cannot play in middle order. We need to find another better keeper for ODIs. Bowlers must be ready to have some laddoo dropped catches in this ODI series.
rkt.india Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 No Abu Nechim .. these fools deserve to be shot in their heads. :finger: Let these talented guys rot in the domestic games and wait till they become 70mph trundlers. That is another issue. Nechim deserves a chance at least in ODIs.
Sidhoni Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Why PP is given so many chances?? Saha or Kartik can be given a place instead of him
rkt.india Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 I'd have Tiwary for Rohit m Aaron for VK Na. Rohit is better than Tiwary. He was MOS in the last ODI series he played. i
King Tendulkar Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Vinay Kumar picked again. He is the new nehra. WHY WHY????
saneindian Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Nehra's turn to call the selectors as a bunch of jokers now :P
nsareen Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Why do they keep picking Parthiv in the 2nd choice side. Time to give Saha a run too I feel they should bring in "Avi Barot", the gujrat Wicket Keeper batsman is the best U19 cricketer. They can try him out for some series to develop him. he looks the real deal.
The Realist Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Don't understand the selectors fascination with Parthiv Patel, has been given numerous chances recently and not really delivered. He's an average wicket keeper and very poor when having to field. Got some real problems if Patel is the reserve to Dhoni.
VRV Singh Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 At least Pappu's last outings were because of a lack of openers. What is the excuse when Sehwag, Gambhir and Rahane are in the squad? Pointless. They trust Saha as a backup WK in Tests, what changes in ODIs?
Cricket Tragic Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 At least Pappu's last outings were because of a lack of openers. What is the excuse when Sehwag, Gambhir and Rahane are in the squad? Pointless. They trust Saha as a backup WK in Tests, what changes in ODIs? They probably don't think he is a good enough batsman for ODIs. He looks a reasonable batsman based on the little I've seen and he can bat in the lower middle order.
VRV Singh Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 They probably don't think he is a good enough batsman for ODIs. He looks a reasonable batsman based on the little I've seen and he can bat in the lower middle order. If both wicketkeepers would be taking the place of a better batsman, I would rather have the one that can catch. :dontknow: I suppose if not Saha then hopefully a better Dropthiv alternative is coming through for ODIs. Certainly emphasises Dhoni's value in this format. Having said this, they probably have a point regarding Saha's batting. You would be forced to have him or Jadeja in the top six which is not ideal. So yeah, another alternative would be good for ODIs. Shame Uthappa is crap.
zen Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 My X1: Viru GG Parthiv Kohli Raina Rohit Jadeja Ashwin PK Yadav Aaron
yoda Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Ashwin could have been rested, especially to give him some free time post marriage and give Ojha a chance in ODIs. Dropthiv as a keeper is a poor choice. I would rather pick him as a pure bat.
Cricket Tragic Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 With Jadeja in, I guess they didn't see the need for the second left arm spinner.
Feed Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Praveen Kumar ruled out of first ODI against West Indies More... Praveen Kumar not fit for first ODI ESPNcricinfo staff November 28, 2011 Praveen Kumar, the India medium-pacer, has been ruled out of the first one-day international against West Indies in Cuttack because of an elbow injury. He is expected to be fit for the second match in Visakhapatman on December 2. "Praveen Kumar has a niggle so he is not available for first ODI," Virender Sehwag, India's stand-in captain, said in Cuttack on the eve of the first one-dayer. "We expect him to join the squad tomorrow and be fit for the second match." Praveen had been ruled out of the 2011 World Cup due to a tennis-elbow injury. It is understood he suffered some pain after the Twenty20 international match against England on October 29 and requested the BCCI for a two-week break. He then played the Ranji Trophy match for Uttar Pradesh against Saurashtra in Meerut. Though he bowled without any complaints in that game, the pain resurfaced recently and he opted out of the first ODI against West Indies. In Praveen's absence, Varun Aaron, Vinay Kumar and Umesh Yadav are the fast-bowling options in India's squad. Praveen was not part of the squad for the three Tests against West Indies after sustaining an ankle injury during the Test series in England.
Number Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Should be rested for all 5 ODIs. He is an important member for our team in Australia.
Chandan Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 If he is rested for entire series, how will his fitness be tested? Don't think he did well at all in the only Ranji game that he played. Is he fit?
