MCcricket Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 If the Indian team loosing in England was an abberration or sign of things to come , we will know when India plays in Australia,Australia in their country are as good if not better then England,they have found some good talent in bowling ,exciting quicks.Batting has Watto, Clarke, Hussey,Ponting. The only way India will win or draw the series is if they are prepared, will fight fire with fire.We have our full team no injuries,Ashwin , Rahul Sharma, Ishant, Umesh, Aaron,fitness of Zaheer, also the veterans will be keen to prove and enhance their reputations. I hope we pick the right players as that will be critical , players who are good at strokes square of the wicket, bolwers who have pace and hit the deck, leg spinner and mystery spinner like Ashwin in non favourable conditions as not all wickets will favour spinners. What we need to do is give Ashwin, Rahul Sharma, Kohli, Yuvraj, Umesh, Aaron all the chances to play test's against W I so we can prepare them also stratergize, find our best 11 for those conditions.

India has a chance though. :nervous: Chances of a series win are there, but we will have to play really really well. The problem is, we win 1 test match abroad and then get complacent. The fact that we won series in places like NZ and WI by a margin of 1-0, really testifies this. Having said that, we really need to see how we perform. If it's anything like England, then it's gonna be painful.:((

Its no secret that ALL of our test grounds have almost the same pitch these days, they will all be roads, our only hope is for some cloud cover etc, otherwise i expect all the Indian batsmen to really pound out attack. The question will be can India's 'attack' do any sort of job on our pitches??? Could be a drawn series. Beating Australia in Australia - even for India- isn't the tough job it used to be.

And as for the cloud cover, it was the same which had haunted the Aussies in the last ashes. So, it could play a spoil sport to us as well.

Honestly, I feel ENgland got lucky the last time they toured Aus. I doubt they can repeat their performance again. And India at best can try to draw the series. The bowling looks fragile and only if Umesh and Aaron take on the mantle of genuine strike bowlers, can we do something. Lets just say that this will be a step forward for team INdia in its rebuilding phase !

Flat pitches and our bowlers would struggle to take even 10 wickets. :(( Sehwag and Sachin can ensure only a draw. I hope pitches are not highways.

England team was just brilliant last time. You can use the term lucky term for Indian team who won 2-0 last year.

They have already beaten Australia both at home and away.

The bowling attack of Aus sucked big time in the last Ashes as compared to the one which we had faced in 2007. We had an in-form Lee, clarke and the unpredicatble Mitchell Johnson to contend with. Spin was the only weak department then for the Aussies but that would not have mattered either ways. Compare this to the Ashes 2010 attack, it was very light. I am not trying to demean the effoorts of anyone but you are right, it would be very difficult for the Poms to replicate that act again.

If you go by the teams a country had in past then all the series would against WI after 80s would be called lucky? Just because India played against stronger side in 2007 doesn't mean that they were lucky. Anyways, whatever team Australia, winning 3 matches by innings away is exceptional effort. There have been many weaker teams than Australia of 2010 which didn't lose this way at their home even against best sides of the world in last 15 years or so. Can we apply same logic while to say that India was lucky to win WC this year because Australia of 2007 was very strong? :dontknow:
