Check out Irfan and Bangar's bowling towards the end. As ever Laxman and Rahul put on a decent partnership. Look out for some high quality catches. India by then were pretty much on top of their game in all departments. Zimboks had a good enough team those days too. King Posted July 4, 2007 Author Posted July 4, 2007 I still cannot understand how a top quality bat like Laxman is being kept out of the test team. Clearly he is among the top 3 batters for India currently. Someone of this class won't fail repeatedly. It is unfortunate he is the first one to be dropped from the team for an extra bowler. That one cover drive Laxman played had so much class written Deano couldn't quite control his emotion.

novpj Posted July 4, 2007 Posted July 4, 2007 Why is Laxman being kept out of the team becoz we are in 2007 and not 2003. Lets not live in the past. Fair or unfair - he has not shown much lately and no reason to believe his knees will get better and he will blossom over the next year.

Sachinism Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 just watched the vid what a bloody match, awesome innings from Laxman, probably one of the best in ODI i have seen from him, seriously classy shots what a partnership from Carlilse and Ervine, batted brilliant, played some super shots too I remember downloading a vid from ICF some time ago and it had 3 awesome catches from India (2 from Lax and 1 from Balaji) they were all from this match thanks for the post, it definitely is a must watch
