I understand the preference of players to play in these tournaments but the calendar should be desiged including IPL/CL and not around them. The number of days a player plays international/domestic/IPL should be limited to limit player fatigue and so that everyone remains in proper touch.

ICC allowing IPL/CL is not easy...even Other countries also want thier leagues to be involved then.. CL works fine becuase 3 Major countries involved... only way is reduce unnecesary ODI and Test matches...

What a way to go as well. Sehwag, Sachin, Lax or Yuvi haven't had much practice. Yuvi isn't really a test player. Dhoni sucks at Tests. Going into a match like this and a few things go wrong, this is what happens.

i ma talking about International matches...very few T20 matches played in country level...while we have lots of 5//7 ODI match series going on...they should easily reduce them so does some Test matches against Strong and Weak teams IPL/CL/Big Bash/County T20 you cant reduce because of Popularity and Money....

Sehwag and Gambhir - Struggling since 2010 Rest of the players are not test standard batsmen. Still people lived in denial and believed that performance in England was fluke/unlucky. But I was really surprised when someone like Shastri said that India would have thrashed England if a series was played now.

I have said this earlier that Indian batting wasn't in good form even before WI series. Batting form of most of our batsmen was going down and fans didn't notice it because of unbelievable renaissance of SRT and the amazing days of test rank # 1. This is nothing new. Whenever SRT performs well, most of the fans hardly notice failures of other batsmen. This batting lineup struggled against NZ, SA, England etc. Now we are noticing it because SRT is not performing and we are losing matches. I bet if we were still saving matches and SRT was doing well, this would not looked like a big issue. We haven't found replacement for no 6 batsman yet. Batting was on downward path for long time and now we can feel it. Last 20 months (since 1 Mar 2010) Sehwag, Dravid, Gambhir, Dhoni, Raina etc were in ordinary form for long time.

This is sad but true. Our strength is batting. If it doesnt click we are toast. Bowling was always the secondary part of Indian cricket :((

The fact of the matter is that the Indian Batting relies on the fortunes of Sehwag's batting. When hes in full flow, we usually see scores of 500+ and it all seems easy. But when he is in poor form,the Middle order striggles big time like the 90s.

^Tbf he did give the start middle order needed, Sehwag has never changed his game, he scores big or nothing. Middle order has been very inconsistent. Sachin bailed us out big time in the Australia series last year, else it would've still been 2-0 but otherway around.

Losing Laxman and sachin in quick succession is creating trouble. I think Laxman should play at no. 6 and Yuvi or Kohli at no. 5 , that will give them a chance to play under less pressure.

He played like he always does and still manages to average 50+ so stop complaining about him. Its because of him the middle order always gets to come in at a comfortable position. When he fails the middle order should stand up and take responsibility.

Please read the post Its not one game i am talking about last few years he is playing very irresponsibly which was not the case when he was making a comeback against australia in 2008 he played with great determination but now his place is secure and he has been given full creative freedom but that he needs to be a bit restrained dravid,tendulkar,laxman are near the end,he will have more responsibilty in future.

There is difference between Attacking Batting and harakiri and all these talk about thats the way he plays is bullshit .He best knocks have been when he has built an innings and then gone after the bowling.He has to go back to that attitude as it got him runs abroad also.
