Anything over 250 will really depend on the middle order's performance which has been below par for quite sometime. Also I see no one thinks we can bowl around WI below 150.

Funny to see people holding "Chandu" as a potential threat , the under-rated legend finally getting some deserved attention. What am certain about is that Chandu will hold one end up and most likely be the last or 2nd last wicket to fall or maybe he wont get out at all so taking wickets from the other end would be key for India in this match. If anyone hangs up with Chandu and develops a partnership then WI would easily go pass through the 200 run mark thus giving India a target of over 300 - Not Easy for India from here.

Day 2: Opinions/Review Instead of creating another thread, lets post the opinions of Day 2 here itself. To start with, as expected the first session belonged to us. Second and third belonged to them. A good opening stand from our openers. Both were lucky as well as unlucky. So, no complaints there. They gave the perfect start for the middle. But apart from Dravid no batsman was able to capitalize. Yes, it can be said that the balls kept low and fetched them wickets. But those are excuses. Once again Dravid was the start of our innnings. Yuvraj & Ishant played a handy knock though. On the whole the day belonged to the West Indians. Last part of the last session was ours. Two wickets is what we needed and got it. So technically WI are 116/2. We need to get them out early. This wicket is going to deteriorate further. So even their batsman will get to face the music. Not pure music though, because of this crappy wicket. Hope India can get them all-out in and around 275 or 315 at the most (Target, not second innings score)

ODI pitch had grass on it. They need not have to tinker with that pitch and it would have been perfectly fine. The test would not have been that bore on that kind of a pitch.
Grass ke bina ye haal hai and rkt wanted pitch to have a bit of grass. :P

:--D. I'm just worried that if this match goes to the 5th day, will the ball rise up ? Just hope the match isn't abandoned due to bad pitch.

india showed how not to play cricket....they were in mess:..laxman disappointed the most....should hav standed along with dravid....laxman is to find form n dat too sooner than later if india wish to even compete with aus in test series....worried abt him!!!!!!!!

depends on chanders and samuels... i guess WI will score abt 225-250 therby giving INDIA a target of about 330-350 which is imposible with the forms the indian batters are in.... sehwag alweys fails in 2nd innings, dravid wont score much even if he stays, sachin is terribly out of form, yuvi never a test player, so da best hopes for IND lies in gambhir-- hu absorbs pressure too good laxman- hu z our 2nd innings specialist dhoni- captain cool has to transform his ODI form into test form plus we need to play sammy and bishoo well

We should bring back Harbhajan as a specialist batsman. Ironically his batting won us our last test match against West indies despite him not bowling well.

I don't see WI scoring that many in the second dig - I expect them to collapse tomorrow.
same here. braithwaite is already out. we just need to get the other batsmen out. chanders won't be able to do anything without support.

If Chanders and the tail gets dismissed cheaply, I think West Indies wont score too many runs. I reckon the target will be around 240 or so but I think that will still be tough to chase on this wicket. Anything less than 240, the bowlers would have done an amazing job and anything more, the batsmen have to pull off a miracle to win. The batting has really let us down once again in this match after the England series which is not a good sign at all. Sehwag and Gambhir were both reckless to get out once they got set and couldnt capitalize. Sachin, Laxman, Yuvraj, Dhoni were disappointing.

Was at Kotla today. What a crazy day with 17 wickets with the ball refusing to rise above the ankles. Became a Sammy fan after watching him lead the side. So much involved with the game and always looked in command of his troops though we did help him by gifting a few easy wickets. Sehwag and Gauti looked set for a huge stand, not to be. Sachin and VVS perished to wrong shots on this slow and low track. Later Yuvi played a liittle cameo but again wrong choice of shot did him in. Baugh's keeping was awesome even though he did concede a few byes. Ojha and Ashwin have got us back in the game and if we can have a couple of quick wickets in the first session, we are well and truly on top. If only Ojha and Ashwin could flight it a little more. All iin all a great day of test cricket despite DDCA's efforts to spoil the fun. seats full of bird droppings, stands which needed a bit of proper washing, overflowing drinkig water basins, dirty toilets not to mention the kilometer long walk to get to Bank of Maharashtra to get a ticket. The stands are empty and yet tickets are being sold in black. Wonder where the tickets, especially for the better stands, have disappeared.
