Okay, so just about 19 hours to go for the Boxing Day Test against India and Ricky Ponting would have been waiting for this ever since he got that 100 against India at Motera in CWC QF.. Now guys I think Ponting will not be at his fluent best in the first test but will certainly fight it out against our not so strong bowling line-up and make a gritty century or maybe even a double...What say guys.. predict here what do you think is gonna be Ponting's score...and would it be enough for him to keep his critics silent for a while atleast??? :nervous:

As a cricket fan, there is something not good about watching a Great player struggle. Be it Tendulkar or Ponting. I want to see Ponting go on a high and not be chucked out. He is a once in a lifetime batsman. Arguably the one best 5 backfoot players that have graced the game.

Ponting was an imperious batsmen. There has always been an arrogant touch to his shot making just like to his personality. His dismissive pull shots during the 2004-06 time frame were bloody brilliant, but for the last 2-3 years the X-factor is no longer there- shuffles a lot in the crease and the confidence is missing. The only great innings of late that I saw Ponting play was in the second test against SA. But batsmen like him have often bounced back - and he certainly possesses the capability to do so. Till now CA have treated him with a lot of patience and backed him throughout. If he doesnt score well in this series, the calls for his retirement will get too loud for him to ignore. My prediction is that he will average 45-50 in the series.
