The avg of 100, period. Is it the stat that we are talking about or everything that one has to go through to get an avg like that. In this case, the number represents all that. It's like someone says 'I won a billion dollars jackpot". That figure of one billion shows everything to the people who know what that kind of money can do. Honerable UN council, note, noone in Bradmans era came close to that number. Some of his peers were greats in their own right. International batsmen even know haven't been able to get such an avg even in domestic games. On top of that, the man has records like scoring 300 runs in a day. Yes, 300 runs. People like to talk about 100s as if it is some kind of a seperate record. All runs you score are reflected in your tally and in the avg calculated. But for reference, Bradman has 29 100s in 80 innings! SRT fanatic:: He has more runs than anyone else, more 100s (which can be compared to an avg of 100). He is good in both tests and ODIs, thus a complete batsman. We don't know Bradman would have done well in ODIs. As per Bradman's avg, see MoYo record against minnows, along w/ these videos. Like a new video game is better than the old one, Tendulkar (new video game) is better than Bradman (old video game) SRT fanatics across India cheer at the presentation at the UN, Sachin will surley clinch it .... again and again and again people bring up this but what I don't understand is how/why is it so wrong if he does that - he has been out in 90s a record 28 times so he knows that he is a bit circumspect there. So whats the harm in slowing down a bit if it results in prolonging his innings instead of getting out in the 90s ?

The truth is he can be someone's greatest, but that by itself does not make him the greatest for everyone. It is truly a question of opinion and having one for or against the motion doesn't make you a hater or lover. But maybe the fanatic bubble needs something more pointed to burst.

Err the point was never if Sachin slowed down. It is common sense that any batsman will slow down in the overs 25 to 38 where Sachin usually scores a 100 in ODIs. The point was that Sachin's progress from 70 to 100, 80 to 100, 90 to 100, were among the top in history both in tests and ODIs

Well as long as the greatest experts, ex and current players etc place him on par or second after Bradman and put him on every all time XI ever, I wouldnt care if a couple of anonymous posters on the net dont rate him. No matter how much people scream and cry, Sachin's place is assured in history, its only some Indian losers who cannot stand a player of their own being rated at the world stage, I have seen no problem with any expert or commentaor from any country admitting Sachin's greatness without expectations. You do have to question yourself though, at what point does any fact cease being an opinion and becomes a truth.

A phenomena many have observed, esp. early on in his career, iirc ..... In fact, I won't be surprised if he started that trend (slowing down in 80s and then as soon as you reach 100 you try to hit out) coz I have seen like guys Azhar play just normal cricket more often than not .... Ofc, this is not to say that he "always" slowed down. Sometimes it may not be by much. But at that time, I would rather see Sachin slow down and get a 100 then get out. Then, like many, I was obsessed w/ 100s too. I remember once Shastri held the record for most 100s for Ind (4 if I am not wrong), then Sidhu/Azhar had it.
