That is the problem when something goes viral. Regardless of its actual quality - people like it because people like it. +1 Illayaraja has used this kind of beat in 100 different songs. The only reason it got hyped is because of the English lyrics and the beat which, as Ganesh said can be found in many Tamizh songs.
