Hur Rizvi Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Anwar's batting was more aesthetically pleasing than Inzi but I believe Inzi was the better of the two, especially in tests. Inzi had a touch of lazy elegance to his batting and his foot movement was impressive for someone his size. But an ATG - in the league of SRT, Lara and Ponting, he was not. I would place him along with Lady Jaya, Chanders and VVS. +1

I do not have time to bury my head in statistics,but its on the same basis that I would call Rohit a better player of pace than say, Raina.

Talent wise he was ahead of inzi but inzi acheived more... Massive shame. I remember his batting from the 99 World Cup, was one of my favourite non-Indian players.

Was a good player away from home though not as great as Sachin or lara but he deserves respect... I have seen some indians claiming srinath was better than waqar :P Inzi was more closer to be an ATG than Srinath or zaheer though.. There are people on both sides who overrate their players which is quite natural ... There might be the odd silly comment like that, but by and large Indian fans don't claim Srinath was greater than the great Pakistani quicks. On the other hand "Inzamam is greater than Sachin Tendulkar" is a widely held claim amongst the Pakistani fan base.

Andrew Peter Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Inzamam is rated very highly among Pak fans due to his Laxman Type Innings in Test Matches . Inzamam on a couple of occasions helped his team secure victory from complete hopeless situations . In Odis atleast hes among the Top5 Bat Ever .

Same with inzi he was good but not an all time gr8.. but as i said above he was more closer to be an all time great than Srinath and Zaheer and if you are not blind read all my posts in this thread i havent claimed that inzi is an ATG but some people here are just blind haters dont even give him the deserved credit

Anwar opened facing the new ball against quality attacks and performed against the Aussies. Salim Malik was another batsman I rated better then Inzi. Inzi was talented but never really stamped his authority against quality attacks. His record is Aus and SA was pretty average. An all time great? No, not even close. There are good 20 better batsmen that I can name in last 20 years.
