When Yadav and BK were bowling in tandem' date=' india was winning. Thats all u need to know. Scores were rarely over 250 as well. They take wickets and that is what wins. look at corey anderson, NZ persist and he gets them wickets even if at a high economy rate. If he did not, they wouldnt use him![/quote'] You're only talking about Champions Trophy and WI tri-series. Even Ishant Sharma played in those series and in fact took more wickets than Yadav. Yadav just doesn't take wickets. Btw I think you're talking about Mitchell McClenaghan, not Corey Anderson. Comparing Yadav to McClenaghan is ridiculous. McClenaghan strike rate is more than twice as good as Yadav (21.0 compared to Yadav's 43.0) and he's still less expensive (5.79 compared to Yadav's 6.07). Hell, even Ishant Sharma's strike rate is 10 balls better than Yadav's, so that just proves how utterly ineffective Yadav is.

I do not expect Aaron to do any miracles playing first ODI after coming back from injury under such pressure losing first 2 ODIs. Hope' date=' Dhoni sticks to his long rope to the same combo or brings in Mishra.[/quote'] Pandey can do well though

You have no idea what skills are required to be a good bowler. It's not only about economy and wickets. It's about how they bowl. Even Shami goes for runs, but you can see the difference between Shami and Ishant. Yadav, whenever in rhythm bowls threatening spells and took wickets. And wickets he took are fast bowlers' dismissals unlike Ishant, who only get wickets, when batsmen try to hit him out of the park. Yadav is a geniune wicket-taker. Ishant is rubbish-utter rubbish. Yadav never got backing from Dhoni. Dhoni treats him like an enemy. You can clearly see, how bad he treated Yadav in South African series. Whenever he look like getting his rhythm back, dhoni took him off and replaced him with Ishant. He bowled 2 overs with the new ball and beat the bat 3-4 times, only to be replaced by Ishant. And then he was suddenly asked to bowl the last over. Now, how can you expect him to do miracles? Someone pointed out that Ishant went for less runs than Shami today. Ishant bowled a single over after the play resumed and went for 17 runs and got Anderson out only because he mis-timed the shot. Bowled two ultra-wides, was hit for 2 massive sixes. He was clearly looking scared. He himself has no confidence in his bowling. On the other hand, Shami bowled 3 overs after the break. And his last spell was exceptional, went only for 14 runs in his last over and got 2 crucial wickets. You can clearly see the difference between Shami and Ishant. Shami knows what he is doing. Ishant only bowls because he has to. No thinking, no plan. Nothing. Anyone who wants to pick Ishant over Yadav has no idea about bowling. Yadav has a very high ceiling. He will improve leaps and bounds if given even half the chances Ishant got. Ishant should take a break from cricket voluntarily and should concentrate on his bowling technique. That is the only way he can improve himself (This is a big IF too).

Thing is if he was a good bowler he would perform in domestic cricket' date=' but he's just as poor at the domestic level as he is in internationals. He's India's version of Jade Dernbach, whose abilities as a bowler are overhyped simply because Indians get a hard-on for anyone who can bowl quick.[/quote'] I hope you are you talking just about the 50 overs game where his record is not upto the mark. His record in the longer version, both in domestic games as well as tests, is quite decent. Tests.-- 32 wickets from 9 matches @ 32.5 average and 46 strike rate. First class -- 28.8 average and 50 strike rate.
