Both Umesh and Varun should play the first 3 ODI

Now that both of them have had the experience of test cricket, no need to wrap them in cotton wool like the team did during the England ODIs. Bowl them during the power plays, during tight situations so that they get an experience of those match situations and are better prepared during the Aus series . As I am posting this, there are news reports that Praveen could be unfit for the first two ODIs which would mean both Umesh and Varun in the 11.

Attack will be very inexperienced without Pk. There should be atleast experienced bowler if we are playing 3 seamers. Remember we went with a completely rookie attack in Zimbabwe and got spanked there.

What experience? PK did jack against England in ODI series.

I don't know if Sreesanth is fit but with PK injury now would be the time to recall this experienced wicket taker leading the likes of Varun and Umesh. It could be fate/destiny, he replaced PK in World Cup squad.

His performance in the ODI series wasnt good, but you still need an experienced spearhead to bowl in Powerplay overs and crunch situations. A complete rookie attack doesnt work - we already saw that in Zimbabwe. Anyways now that he has been ruled out of the first ODI, lets see who is played in his place.

I do not think we have any reason to miss PK's bowling as he has always been below average in ODIs in India. It was a blessing in disguise to check Abu Nechim but they again recalled Mithun.

PK did jack in the Eng ODI series? Gave us an early break through in 3 of the 5 ODIs, bowled economically in 4 of the 5 ODIs, despite bowling all his overs in the powerplays or in the death overs. Was perhaps our best bowler during the batting powerplays and the death overs. RKT and his hate for PK has got no limits.

RKT is pace fanatic. Bet he is a typical trundler himself :hysterical:

Anyone watching Dail C plus in Neo Cricket. Some caller called Subramanium phoned in said we should select RP Singh for the ODI series because he has the X factor like Wasim Akram.Do we really have fans that dumb in India :banghead:

what was his average? you believe taking 3-4 wickets in a 5 match series is a great performance for a lead bowler. if people expect a lead bowler like that then that is okay but i want a bit more from my lead bowler. i dont hate pk or anyone but what irritates me is talk like he is taking bucket loads of wicket every match. for once, look at his record in India. any bowler cam replicate that average and SR.

Maybe it was RP himself on the phone calling in as Subramanium just like Sreesanth himself posts on icf :giggle:

Ab apna yahi logic Ishant Sharma ki test bowling ke liye lagao, aur socho ki uska kya average tha, usne kitne wicket liye wagaira wagaira. Why the double standards? Ishant bowled well, couldn't pick wickets in recent tests, PK also bowled well during the ODI series, couldn't pick wickets. Wasn't exactly a case of doing jack in the series as you said.

Same thing for both, but still both are different things. because Ishant has had good perfomance on indian pitches before this. we can give him a bit of a leeway, but that is not true for PK. I am not saying anything about Vk because he did better overall against England last series but i dislike vk more than any, but as he did well, he should have his days.
