Stuge Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Then would you drop Umesh Yadav too ? Or Ashwin based on his performance in the previous game ? They were rubbish too. did I said that in any of the previous posts ?Like many I'm also venting lol
Lord Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Then would you drop Umesh Yadav too ? Or Ashwin based on his performance in the previous game ? They were rubbish too. but they have impressed for some time in careers.wen has Mithun done that?at best hes been average
Sooda Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 He was not very good in WI either. Came into the squad with a lot of talk about being quick, genuine fast medium at least if not quite Aaron/Yadav pace... but rarely crosses the low 80 mph mark. This is the reason why bowlers should not be picked after just one good FC season,. I know there is a dearth and a decent paceman is gold dust. But foir thier beneift young bowlers need a nother FC season to hone their skills after a successful one, and to prove consistency. Another note is Mithuns List A record is very ordinary- he is not a ODI bowler and should not have been picked at all. Selectors do not know the difference between formats though. Expect nothing less.
saneindian Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Vinay Kumar's chances of being PK's replacement have brightened up. Has bowled very well so far in the series.
achilles Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 I hope now people will not question the detractors of the Sauth players quota policy. But kudos to Mithun for the self-goal. There is no way he can be picked for Oz without inviting the wrath of the junta.

But as you say, our selectors are clueless when it comes to distinguishing between formats.
kubrickian Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 but they have impressed for some time in careers.wen has Mithun done that?at best hes been average Its not about Mithun, Yadav or whoever. These moronic knee jerk reactions when it comes to pace bowlers in India are the reason we havent produced good enough bowlers. The conditions in India are not conducive to pace bowling at all, especially in ODIs. So they are going to get plastered every once in a while. Making that a reason to drop someone is not fair.
achilles Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Yeah - average nearing 40! But as you say' date=' our selectors are clueless when it comes to distinguishing between formats.[/quote'] He hails from "A part" of the country

saneindian Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Yeah - average nearing 40! But as you say' date=' our selectors are clueless when it comes to distinguishing between formats.[/quote'] To be fair to Mithun, he looked the best fast bowler during the Challenger Trophy, was hitting 135+ easily and bowled quite well. The issue with him seems to be of temperament, puts himself too much under pressure and then loses the plot, especially in ODIs.
achilles Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Junta like you who cries quota and regionalism when someone from their state is not selected. I find it really amusing when guys can't admit mistakes and errors in judgements. Makes for humourous reading :hysterical: Although, I must give you credit for atleast having the nerve to post, unlike your bruvs who disappear from threads when the going gets tough. Credit where due
Pagalpanti Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Mithun was decent in SL tour, but since IPL this year he's been absolutely crap. Even in IPL used to give too many full tosses and short stuff with no pace.
achilles Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 What Twitter has to say about Abhimanyu Mithun- @cricbuzz When you look at Mithun, you see a man who has spent too much time in the gym and too little in the nets practicing bowling. #indvswi @adiratan If Irfan gets selected, then he should thank Viru for giving Mithun the 49th over! #DDconnection #cricket @JinnyBoi Abhimanyu Mithun takes out the 'Abhiman' from his name quite literally. @amfrk Thank God...now they wont pick Mithun for australia @doc_on_rocks irfan pathan, mithun and vinay kumar are eying a slot for down under... this shahid afridi's quicker ball is atleast 10kms faster than all @MalhotraSaurabh Abhinahi Mithun.
Ultimate_Game Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 We should get Pathan for the last 2 odis and let all 3 (Vinay Kumar, Mithun and Pathan) compete for the last bowling slot to Australia.
Lord Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 We should get Pathan for the last 2 odis and let all 3 (Vinay Kumar' date=' Mithun and Pathan) compete for the last bowling slot to Australia.[/quote'] it'll be named TODAY

Trundler27 Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 do our selectors have no brains at all? or are they so controlled by bureaucracy that they just HAVE to get such mediocre players into the national side?? I mean one glance at such useless bowlers is enough to suggest that they neither have the body language nor the skill to sustain pressure on the opposition
VRV Singh Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 lol @ exposed. You didn't realise he was mediocre before?
