Never go for buffet in USA/Canada. It is made to please the locals. You order the dishes' date=' and tell them Spicy..Indian Spicy (yes, I have had to mention Indian spicy).[/quote'] I avoid indian restaurants in america, they are just really really bad.they try to make everything bland to appeal to everyone and lose their Indianness.

There is this Thai restaurant in my area that serves all their dishes in 5 flavors... 1. Mild 2. Regular 3. American spicy 4. Thai spicy 5. Make me cry  I tried the 5th one, couldn't finish one dish in 2 hours. At the end I had leftover and did cry.

To state it clearly: What you did sounded like an extremely stupid thing to do
how so? It's part of life...it wasn't just me, i had four other friends having their own shots at it. The restaurant is known for it's flavors and it's sort of like a challenge in a fun way. It's just a thrilling experience and I actually enjoyed it. We had planned for it that night while hanging out...that's what friends do...try new things together (in case you've never had friends) ps. I love spicy food and could not stand sweets.

Indian resturants in US are very very bad. The best one in US is the one in Nashville close to Vanderbilt university and second would be Saravana Bavan in Atlanta.
If its the only Indian restaurant in that area, then I went there once. It was filled with mostly whites and we were the only Indian customers there. The food was good but the experience was PATHETIC. We were treated indifferently by the Indian staff just because we were Indians.
