Old guy Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 His bowling is similar to Kumble's or how Afridi bowls now. The main thing is that he will hardly get batsmen room to play shots or will be quick enough through the air to allow batsmen to use their feet effectively. agree but he has good control for a rookie thats a plus i think he will win us many odis in future :D
Ultimate_Game Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 agree but he has good control for a rookie thats a plus i think he will win us many odis in future :D And at home on crumbling pitches where there's uneven bounce he will be deadly
Old guy Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 And at home on crumbling pitches where there's uneven bounce he will be deadly even on bouncy australian tracks he will be difficult to play imo good prospect i can finally see new team being build :two_thumbs_up:
daryl1985 Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 We don't have Yuvi which IMO would be the biggest loss as he's an amazing power hitter and a decent spinner in sub-continent. Yuvi is out of cricket for 6 months at least' date= and then will need some time to regain match fitness and form :sniffle: :(( Didn't know he was out for that long.
Dravid_TheWall Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Problem with Ashwin was he was bowling like he does in SC where he can get turn by flighting the ball and bowling slow. This is not going to happen here untill you can turn the ball both ways like Hogg or Ajmal and batsmen find you tough to read, look at Aussies Hussey and Doherty. They mixes their pace and bowl quicker through the air. Varying you pace and is the most important thing to success here for a finger spinner, cannot delivery flighted dollies which do not turn on these pitches. Ashwin needs to adjust to the conditions. He did the same mistake in test series as well. He needs to try to beat the batsmen through pace and length variations, cannot be predictable. Ashwin has carrom ball. Just think he is slightly out of form perhaps with all that toiling in test cricket :cantstop:
rkt.india Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Ashwin has carrom ball. Just think he is slightly out of form perhaps with all that toiling in test cricket :cantstop: Carrom ball is not as effective as chucked Doosra by Ajmal.
Ultimate_Game Posted February 5, 2012 Author Posted February 5, 2012 Carrom ball is not as effective as chucked Doosra by Ajmal. It's amazing to see how he has been cleared to bowl when his arm is bent to such an extent. The replays with him bowling are an eye opener and I wonder why he hasn't been reported by umps or match referees so far this series.
Number Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Seriously disappointed with Ashwin's bowling in this game.
