Ultimate_Game Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 The guy seems to be a pretty decent bowler in shorter format of the game and is very similar to Kumble. I can see him getting plenty of lbws and bowleds as the batsmen go after him.
Laaloo Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 His FC stats are not impressive. But who cares. No harm in trying him IMO
Ultimate_Game Posted December 8, 2011 Author Posted December 8, 2011 Another revelation thanks to IPL. :isalute: That's true. Looks like batsmen don't know how to play leg spinners who don't spin the ball much and keep it straight. If likes of Bishoo and Afridi can be successful, I can't see any reason for Rahul Sharma not to have a pretty successful career. And Sharma is doing it on the pitch with nothing for the bowlers and where we just scored 418!!! Just imagine what he could do on a pitch with uneven bounce or turn.
cowboysfan Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 does he bowl short or can he get his leggies going?
Ultimate_Game Posted December 8, 2011 Author Posted December 8, 2011 Very less spin and relies more on bounce. That's why I said he's like Kumble. He looks a better version of Afridi as a bowler.
falcons360 Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 rahul rahul sharma should go to Australia This guy would be ideal in Australia
coffee_rules Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Good prospect, but can't replace Ojha and/or Ashwin for now or Jadeja in ODIs. Definitely above Darty.
phaedrus Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 needless to say should be persisted with. cant say much after just one game but he does look the part.
BeautifulGame Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 He turns the ball much more than Kumble. Will be interesting how he bowls in test cricket.SHould be tried in couple of A team tours and even in tests against weaker teams. Also should be part of CB series. Seems much better prospect than Chawla or even Mishra

Seems much better prospect than Chawla or even Mishra No doubt. Apparently he has enough "confidence" even in his debut game, and doesn't bowl half-trackers. Batsmen actually have to take a risk when playing big shots against him. Definitely someone to keep an eye on and to manage & handle with care by BCCI.
Number Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Since Jimmy paaji came in the selection panel , he was selected in every squad , excluding Aus tour. He will be managed well. Thanks to selectors for spotting the talent.
saneindian Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Will not rush into any judgement so soon Chawla had a fantastic start to his ODI career and looked like a lambi race ka ghoda as did Mishra after that 5-er vs the Aussies.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 turns it miles. great drift as well. looked good, enough talent to do well at international level. its about time india had a quality leg spinner, he might be it.
