Phillip Hughes' latest decision - Ridiculous!

:omg: Today, Hughes has withdrawn himself from the BIG BASH LEAGUE - In order to retain his spot in the Australian side... His comments can be found at this link here I think the damage has been done and he's already going to be dropped, he seems to think otherwise though! Discuss...

Good decision. Playing T20 won't help him in correcting his technique, might as well make him play more aggressive shots which in a way will make his technique more vulnerable.

SO he is banking on single game to earn him a chance in Australian side .He must be in tremendous pressure to perform now .

hopefully he gets a chance with the rollercoaster of injuries i have been seeing here, he may as well get a chance
Dude, saying he deserves a chance is like saying GOD is spelt as DOG. The guy is a overhyped piece of sheet from head to toe.

He has some talent - He's in a form slump. Do not be surprised if he returns to FC cricket and comes back stronger and more consistent. ie: Martyn, Hayden, Langer etc.
West Indians said the same about Marlon Samuels citing Richards, Lara, Sobers as examples.

I never did understand this refraining from T20 supposed to bring back form. Ponting doesnt play IPL' date=' Dravid does[/quote'] :two_thumbs_up: Hughes has a walking batting technique. He is never stable and balanced in the crease while playing defensive shots and always keeps the bat face open towards gully and point region. He tries to emulate Sehwag but he is a left hander and most of his shots against right arm bowlers bowling across him end in the hands of slips and Gully or point.

but sehwag's head is super still thats why he is so successful u cant compare them..and sehwag defends properly (which is rare) not with angled bat jumping towards off stump

Both Hughes and Warner are the Veerus of Australia or maybe even crappier in technique than Veeru. It might work in LOI but in the long run it might not work out the best in longer formats. The previous openers Gilly and Hayden were light years ahead of them.

The guy can play some good shots but looks very suspect through the off side at times. Considering this is where most balls are bowled, he has some thinking to do. Ideally Aus would want Watto and Warner to open against us. More aggressive than our test opening partnership, but there can only be one Viru!!

To some Extent I agree with you because whole article could have been post but OP decided not to post it.
