So we are appreciating the speed with which the ball was hit to the boundary by a no-name batsman :hysterical: I wish we would get off this band-wagon. As soon as a fast bowler even manages to bowl at half-decent speed we make him to be a reincarnation of Holding & Marshall :haha: So far the only decent fast bowler to come through has been Umesh Yadav, and before that Ishant who himself has never fulfilled his potential. Rest of the so called talented fast bowlers haven't done anything to write about or haven't looked that good.

Have you even watched the balls. Who is saying they are Holding or Marshall. Dont post to post rubbish.

I have watched enough so called "pace demons" being biggied up on this forum. One or two balls in a highlight reel doesn't tell you much. Based on one or two deliveries Sreesanth would be the greatest bowler since Spofforth, or Monty the best batsman since Bradman. Bowling is all about consistency and one or two balls is nowhere enough to hype up a player. I have seen this before and a few examples should suffice... 1. VRV Singh was supposed to be a out and out fast bowler but on intl scene he struggled to hit 130 kph :hysterical: 2. A guy called Atul Sharma in the KKR squad was hyped up to be the fastest bowler in the world with threads dedicated to him and that too when he hadn't even played a match :omg: I wonder where he's now :hmmm: 3. Other pace prospects like Unadkat, Tyagi etc. who looked out of sorts on intl scene and couldn't even clock 130 kph :haha: The list is pretty long and I'm sure I have missed out on such great "tailunted phaast" bowlers but the truth is we hype people for no rhyme or reason. In fact even Varun Aaron falls in the same category. What I saw against WI wasn't an intl pace bowler and would struggle against Zim and B'desh. On the other hand we have a team like Aus who bring in youngsters like Pattinson and Cummins about whom we hadn't even heard much and they made intl class batsmen look like novices. Maybe all this would seem "rubbish" to you coz I am not going to jump on the bandwagon of a guy who hasn't done jack shyte even at domestic level :giggle:

sorry but part about aaron i dont agree i guess u jsut saw the game in which he was injured otherwise in odis he was jsut as good as yadav and in tests he bowled on absolute patta but after getting 1 he got 3 :winky: and we saw enough evidence that he has talent to succeed he was able to get few balls move away form batsmen so thats a area where he can develop and he gets reverse swing and yes many bowlers fail but we are only getting info here who said they are mcgrath's or steyns? atleast they are not the guys who are consistently getting hammered for more then 600 runs

ok so i have 2 mins do u even remeb how siddle,hilfy bowled 1 or 2 years ago they were nothing like this and pattinson was struggle on pattas.. and plz dont go by that test.. in mumbai there was no swing in air at all even in odis he bowled with older ball ( that time even yadav struggled! and in one match was hammered for 70 odd runs on flat track and remeber yadav's first match? honestly thought he sucked but all of sudden things lciked for him this guy aaron has many good things he will be really good odi bowler for us and good back up bowler in tests much better then ishant i can promise u .. and even on that patta he swung the ball got edge which went through slips and then kept going for wickets and unlike ishant didn't blamed his luck and getting 3 quick wickets mate ishant is not even doing that.. most of our bowlers allow partnershiop to develop and after hammered for 100 runs showed he kept on trying..which is a good thing trust me not bad ishant at end went for same no of runs and how many wicketss ? :winky: i think these guys could be developed into good bowlers they need to stay in team.. just like australia developed there lot perfect example to me tremlett at first looked iffy.. and on pattas he struggles most english bowler bowl in 130's(lower even 120's!) also on debut innings yadav got none ,aaron 3.. plz dont go jsut by one innings .. i really like this guy.. liked him even more then yadav! his natural length in australia would ve suited him so much (yadav is still struggling to pitch it up aaron naturally bowls there!)

But seriously yar, don't you think even Australians hype their fast bowlers too much. Did you listen to channel 9 commentary where I got sick of how they were praising of their upcoming fast bowlers. Every single day, they used to mention it atleast 15 times that Australia has great reserves of fast bowlers. Even on Star Cricket, Tom Moody never missed a chance to mention about Australian reserve of fast bowlers whereas Ian Chappell was a little bit sensible about it. I have seen Indians dealing with much better bowlers like Jason Gillespie, Glenn Mcgrath or Brett Lee at their peak. But now bcoz Indian batting was on decline so these Pattinsons and Starcs were looking more deadly and world beaters against Indian batsmen and still their experts didn't miss a single opportunity to boost about their bowlers. England tour was too far back but if you remember, even English commies always used to boost about their bowling superiority and their speeds. Remember Ian Botham and Bumble and Nassir Hussain

You know the think that I like about Aaron is- he makes his own decisions. A little bit of whatever I have seen of him so far, he backs himself and a little crazy as well. If he thinks he needs to bowl a bouncer, he will bowl that, no matter even if Sachin is telling him to pitch the ball up.

But overall their track record regarding fast bowlers has been good. The list of fast bowlers over the last 5 years or so (after McGrath) has been pretty decent - Harris, Pattinson, Cummins, Bracken, Siddle, Johnson, Bollinger, Nannes, Starc etc. and most of their bowlers manage to bowl 140 kph+ consistently.
