Saeed AJmal has taken 50 wickets in tests and is the highest wicket taker for the year 2011. 8 tests in 2011 1 againist Zim 6 wickets @32 2 againist WI 17 wickets @14 3 againist SL 18 wickets @28 2 againist Ban 9 wickets @25 Is this real good spin bowling or is it minnow bashing?Discuss

good spinner but yes his record will get little dip when he plays against good sides but i still expect him to perform reasonably well gainst sides like australia, england on wickets which help a bit

He is a blatant chucker, but setting that aside also a very good spin bowler with a potent doosra that most batsmen find it hard to pick. He is far more effective in ODIs than in tests - the current tests stats are embellished by minnow bashing.

I would agree with the minnow excuse people keep putting forward, to an extent. Sri Lankans are great players of spin. Murali didn't make them bat you know *sarcasm* :P
Ummm Lankans are good players of every bowling..but nly at home.Except Sanga all of them suck outside Lanka.Thats why they havent won even a test match in India, they arent such great players of spin or any bowling outside their home pitches. Even taking into consideration that SL are great players of spin still 32 of his 50 wickets came againist rank minnows. No excuses there. We will see how he does againist better teams and outside UAE and S******il he fails in that i wont label him as a minnow basher.Well done Mr Ajmal.

The performance in the Lanka series is an accurate reflection of his abilities. He will average around the 27-28 mark in tests. His ODI performance will be interesting though - lets see if he can maintain the sub 25 average throughout his career

will avg 30+ in test matches. As his avg will go up in places like AUS SA and versus India.

He wont play in India, AUS, SAF also i guess pak will have probably one visit each to both countries before he retires... and as opposed to that i guess he will play a lot against zim, win, ban... so maybe he may end with a sub 25 average even :fear:

Will probably play for another 2 years max.

i think he will be found out in SA and versus stronger teams in UAE. Kallis Smith AB Amla all play spin better than SL batsman do.
