peterparker Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 noone is saying fletcher is the cause of everything you moron' date=' but things like the very defensive fields against tailenders, poor selection and lack of motivation all fall under a coach's expertise, and fatty fletcher has been pathetic in this [as expected']. thts captain's mistake..even against england in 2nd test after 124/8 he let off england to come back...again 26/4 to 240..this was turning moment of the gmae..aussies are known to collapse usually..they should have made 75/7 like this and get them roll out by 130
Stuge Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 You guys have started blaming Fletcher for debacle in England and a loss against Australia . we were 214/2 at one stage .Its our batsman who are at fault . They don't want to learn from past mistakes, and they keep on repeating the same again and again.
Ramzz Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Not the coach's fault. Blame poor captaincy and batting.
cowboysfan Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 I have been on record saying that we should never have hired Fletcher,he will most certainly retire after he gets fired and he is only looking for a payday.
bulbul Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 I refuse to believe that with Kirsten at the helms' date=' we would be surrendering game after game. Yes it is the players that have to play, but Motu has zero input and motivational skills.[/quote'] butt butt SA lost first ever match agianst SL in thier own home :giggle: i dont think coach can do much.. also fletcher coacehd a england team to 5-0 defeat against OZ in OZ so dont expect any miracle from him.. Its Players mainly and Captin to some extent.. Coach can make a difference to Re building or a very young team...not to the higly experience and legend filled team like us
Ithyphallic Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Andy Flower and Stephen Fleming were the right choices. Should have selected any one of them.
BeautifulGame Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 We can all blame the coach bowlers captain or even evil BCCI. But the fact is we havent scored 300 in our last 5 tests. We even collapsed and failed thrice in 3 tests against WI at home.Anyone with a iota of cricketing knowledge should know where our real problem is.
Singham Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Coach can't anything when our cricketers play like ****. I do believe he was the reason behind the inclusion of umesh, varun instead trundlers for the aussie tour when the team was announced first. Then we got the shocker of news that varun was injured and i am sure neither the coach nor the captain was considered when they selected vk and mithun.

Maybe he pushed for some pace to a point of consideration in the team.
achilles Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 look at all the morons here, falling for some nonsense written in the triumphant aussie media. i bet some of you losers breathe on instruction. please explain to me how fletcher is the cause of all that is happening right now? the coach isnt the one who tells dravid to drop catches, nor is he the one to tell the batsmen to stop collapsing, nor is he the one to tell the captain to spread the field and take off his best bowlers when a wicket is required. ALL THESE THINGS WERE GOING ON when kirsten was coach. the coach's role is overrated anyway, the captain is the guy who runs the show. this isn't football, it's cricket. if anyone should be fired after this series, it should be dhoni. +1
Deleted_User_1 Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 +1 Excuse me, but who would you make the captaan and who the wicket-keeper if he is sacked. Do we have choices? Even if we found a avg w/k what about captaan. There is not a single guy in the lineup that can be a captain now.
ganeshran Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Out top 7 batsmen have played 680 tests and scored more than 52000 runs. Dont think poor coaching is the result of their woes right now. The coach is expected more to help with strategy on how to bowl to opposition players and set field placing. Its this job that Fletcher must concentrate on.

I dont know how exactly coach can infulence..may be Pre match startegy, motivational speeches and more importnatly his experience will come handy.. But in cricket Captain have more role compare to coach imo
Needforspeed Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Not saying Fletcher is responsible for the losses..but they should have gone for a relatively young and modern coach after Kirsten. Fletcher looks asleep half the time. Looking at him is demotivating enough. He conveys such a feeling of lethargy, that even if he gives a motivational talk his body language will convey the opposite. The way things works in India, he is unlikely to be fired. He knows how to keep everyone happy-the captain, players and the board.

Even if we found a avg w/k what about captaan. There is not a single guy in the lineup that can be a captain now. I think Viru could go a good job. Or maybe we can have Dhoni as the armchair captaan, like Dada had been when he was playing (and when he wasn't). As for wicketkeeper, whats wrong in giving Karthik another run? The problem with Dhoni is his stubborn captaincy. In England, he let their players score almost 60 runs in the 3rd man area, but didn't keep a fielder there all day. Here, he is spreading out fields for friggin No.11s. I think he's lost his touch with his captaincy too

Malcolm Merlyn Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Well no one can teaxh this indian team to bat.when as a fan you find the bowling of indian team more exciting than batting.you know somethong ks wrong somewhere. Sent from my GT-I9103 using Tapatalk
MCcricket Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 Guys have faith their batting is more brittle then us , only Ponting and Hussey after the drop scored, we will win test's here, also Fletcher is good, what we cannot change is Dhoni's mindset, defensiveness, hopefully he comes out positive, we lost the game to Dhonis negative thought process, some batters gifting away their wickets.
Number Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Lol, if coach doesnt have any role to play then why do they appoint one.
Ultimate_Game Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Dour left handed opening bats make good coaches for India. Any variation from the formula has resulted in disaster. Based on the results and history so far I request BCCI to go after Mark Richardson big time as the future coach.
