Why should Kohli spend additional long hours fine tuning his Tests skills (extra practice, County exposure, A tours etc.), when his current skillset is earning him millions already. Currently the fundamental economics dictates only idiots will play Test matches for India The ever more lucrative IPL and ODIs makes it a non-brainer for indicating where an aspiring young cricketer needs to prioritise, especially young batsmen. Seeing Warner in Tests is taking the p!ss. Infact Australia and South Africa Test sides have more to loose when their last batch of batting veterans retire. Either BCCI needs to raise Central Contract awards to millions of dollars or continue fishing for cr@p Test talent.

It's only a matter of time once he lands a massive US$500k+ contract and all the injuries starting poping up and speeds starts dropping off. In IPL, decent Indian pace bowlers are a priced commodity due to the shortage of them, and once Yadav and Aaron secure their massive contracts or cement a regular ODI spot then expect to see more 130s then 140s from Yadav. Everyone knows it, but still ignores it, there is no financial incentive to play Tests. Fans and pundits will always be fickle but players are trying to build career not JUSTplay for the love of their country and Tests.
