maniac Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 The biggest thing that looks wrong with this team,is that they look as if they play without a plan.... Sehwag's slogs when the requirement for him him to see off the new ball, Umesh Yadav and Ishanth Sharma just running and going through the motions like bowling machines(Infact bowling machine would be a compliment......these guys don't have a clue to setu a batsman), Dhoni's field placings....all of them look so instinctive it is pathetic. I would love to see, hear or read what these morons discuss in the team-meeting...It is just sad that the team with mopre experience than any other team in the world right now has absolutely no clue themselves or in no position to guide others......Is there s smiley for this???-----Cheee....Thoo
Alchemist Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 well i have seen many people typing, bring bhajji, he`ll spare things up nd all that abuse ****.... but tbh in the monkey gate scene, he was scared after seeing the reaction of haydos nd symonds, bhajji would **** his pant b4 he ever thinks of sledging in australia The bolded part can work as distraction too !!
Needforspeed Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I think the BCCI is paying the price for too much cricket. Apart from physical relaxation, players need mental relaxation too. Lets have a look at 2011. The South Africa series with 3 Tests and 5 ODIs. Then the World Cup. Immediatly after the World Cup, there was IPL, then WI tour and the England tour. As soon as the team came back from England we had CLT20 then England again coming here for 5 ODIs. After that the same WI team we had played in May-June this year again coming for a full tour. When players play so much cricket, they stop enjoying it and it becomes like a 9-5 job. Look at our players..they don't seem to have any passion. It is the goose with the golden eggs story coming true.

I agree with the likes of Dhoni and Sehwag who play all forms, but people like Dravid, Laxman, SRT, Kohli (who should be hungry) have no excuses as they have had time off and if they choose to play in other leagues or do promotions its their responsibility.
panther Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 aus are playing very good cricket especially there bowlers
Ultimate_Game Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 We are an over the hill team with half the team fit to be part of the seniors squad.
saket123 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 the only thing wrong is that we lack batting and bowling experience on bouncy clayey pitches. Unless we convert half of the pitches in India to clayey pitches.. this will be a continuing problem.
express bowling Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 --- The Indian team, especially the batsmen, seem to be completely uninterested in playing test matches, especially abroad where a lot of focus is needed. Apparently the taste of T20 / IPL has destroyed their ability to be serious for 5 days, focus hard and toil. They have got used to the fun masala cricket. --- Dhoni's test match captaincy is bizarre to put it mildly. He has become so defensive and often seems clueless and tactically weak. --- Our young pacers need to bowl to an effective plan and set up batsmen. Ishant especially looks like someone who does not use his head at all. ---
Sooda Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 The transition should have happened earlier, younger batsmen should have been given run outs vs relatively weak oppo at home give them a taste of test cricket.
express bowling Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 The transition should have happened earlier' date=' younger batsmen should have been given run outs vs relatively weak oppo at home give them a taste of test cricket.[/quote'] True. It is also hard to beleive that the most consistent batsman in the practice matches, Rohit, is not in the team.
Ultimate_Game Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 True. It is also hard to beleive that the most consistent batsman in the practice matches' date=' Rohit, is not in the team.[/quote'] Rohit has been performing consistently in odis, in domestic/FC matches and in practice games. And we have decided to make use of his form by making him sit on the bench whereas likes of Laxman who can't run 2 or do anything for that matter walks right into the team.
Pagalpanti Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 With SL tests now cancelled we only play at home up until Dec 2013. 3 tests vs NZ 4 tests vs Eng and Aus. A total of 11 tests before another series of away tours. I hope selectors make some tough decision after this tour, at least 2 of the seniors need to make way.
