Yes definitely not that solid anymore, but still better than most. I know it's boring to say or read the same thing, but it's true. He's still better to be in the team. The 20 odd he scored yesterday, he looked in sublime touch. Some of the shots were amazing. Some of the shots were miss timed, but the ones which went for four came rite from the class book. He's perhaps not playing the swing that well the way he used to. He actually hos lost that excessive patience which he used to show all those years. The deliveries he got bowled on, he would defend those like an easy half volleys. He's looking class in his first hour in every knock, but the longevity of his patience on the crease has reduced.

And when it happens a bit too often, one can get conscious too and can backfire even further. But yes, someone like Dravid is expected to anticipate change in conditions and make necessary adjustments leading up to the match.

There was a time when he used to poke outside off stump a lot and get out, but fixed that completely. Im pretty sure he can get this sudden issue under control too.

Sadly i think his reactions are slowing down. It can be seen both in the slips and in his batting. He was outstanding in the England tour and if this is to be his last tour, he can go out with his head held high having performed very well against the best test side around (even if he fails in Aus). When Dravid retires from the Indian test team it will be a sad day. He along with Sachin are my all time favourite players and it will not be the same without him. :((

He has not faced any left arm quicks since Tsotsobe so i am not sure if he has ironed out that deficiency.

He's nearing 40 and even if he sorts out the issue it's too late. Time to get in youngsters as next 2 years we only have home tests and no point in continuing with the seniors.
