Sachin=GOD Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Yes let us continue with our legends for another 3-4 years or we can should play them till they reach 50.Its not all about batting ,its about other aspects of cricket as well like fielding ,running etc. Oh well, you have brought up Dhoni again.But for some information,I saw you defend Veeru in other thread today,but sorry to tell you but the non performer MSD has outscored him last 3 overseas tour. yeah but Veeru hasn't been an average Test match player throughout his career. He's had a few bad series' here and there but for Dhoni its more like he's had a few good series' here and there. Aur mere bhai,he also outscored your God in the only match we won in last SA tour :((.I am ashamed at this non performer. what if I start counting the number of matches in which Goddy has outscored Dhoni :acute:

But get main point in your head i.e. of building up a new side by giving chances to young prospects(who are heavy scorers in domestic cricket) in our middle order because we cant rely on our legends for 100 more years,its time we phase them out one by one .

How can we say they will not perform? They may take some time to adjust to intl cricket but I would rather we give youngsters extra rope rather than sticking to 40 year olds. After this series India doesn't have an away series for the next 2 years and it's ideal time to give these youngsters a chance.

Until the Aus tour, we had to wait since youngsters cannot be blooded right in a tough away tour. I guess now it is time for seniors to be phased out. I hope at least one of the seniors announces his retirement at the end of this series.

If they are playing well then I'd continue with them. Quite well? So how many series did we win against Top 6 opposition away from home? These famed batting line up has been collapsing twice or thrice in every away series costing us series wins. Its not even about form.They are already 39 ffs.They wont be going on for our next away tour which is 3 years away.So what is the point of continuing with them. Is it because they can increase their stats playing in home conditions.Ya who gives a dame about future of Indian team or about India winning or losing in future.Only care about our seniors filing their boots so that they can improve their stats. whenever someone talks about Indian players not being in form in Test matches then my mind goes to the one player who has never been in form in Test matches - M. Yes there would have been a case to replace Dhoni too if he is 37 or 38.He is definitely fit enough play our next away series even if they are 3 years away unlike our seniors.Same reason why Sehwag shouldnt be dropped. As for performance Dhoni is the second best performing WK in international cricket in last 3-4 years.If this isnt good form then u probably dont understand the term wicket keeper batsman. As for already giving youngster enough opportunity.Rahane Rohit Pujara Rohit and Mukund all nearly average 60 in Ranji.How many opportunities have they been given?

Dravid, known as The Wall by his legion of adoring Indian fans, has been bowled six times in his past eight Test innings, including three times in the current series against Australia. He was also bowled off a no-ball by Peter Siddle in the first Test at the MCG. The recent nature of outs have prompted some experts to question whether Dravid's once-perfect technique is deteriorating with age. Dravid celebrated his 39th birthday on Wednesday, saying: "any number scares you after 30 I think". But the affable right-hander is adamant his technique remains as strong as ever, declaring he could find nothing wrong with his recent batting style. "When you do get out three times you do think about it, so I've worked on a few things. But I don't think it's anything major or too wrong," Dravid said. "I can't see anything that I've drastically changed or anything I've done drastically different. "So I hope it's just a coincidence and I hope I can set it right." prashsenga Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 I am a big time fan of dravid , that i revere him more than God.. but guess age is defly catching up and he is no GOD... its time to go " Great WALL of India" VVS and Dravid should retire by this series end. They are playing just on past reputation and it would be disservice to drop them in the middle of the series.. but i want the younger players to get some exposure in Indian series and gain some confidence.. and i dont ever want sehwag to play a test outside of india.. if he scores 20 odd runs average outside subcontinent.. please no more of his swagger and bull **** shots whjich fetch a maximum of one or two fours in a innings.. get Rahane , Kohli , rohit and Pujara immediately into test fold.. we can lose with these youngsters .. at least after a year we can start winning. if we delay the retirement for another one year god knows how long the slump will last...
