Tics is talking about Dravid, they showed a footage where Rahul was laughing and in high spirits when we were 9 down. So Tics has made the inference that Rahul is enjoying his last days in cricket without worrying about the results.

They should retire when they are still capable of good performances and not wait to be pushed out of the team. As far as I can remember Sunil Gavaskar is the only Indian to have retired when he was still in good form. I remember at that time lot of people were asking him not to retire.

ganguly? in his last year he was very good against pakistan (avg 89) and in the sa and aus home series (both avg 50+). aus away series he did ok(avg 30). only failure was mendis series where everyone did badly(avg 19 or so).

He was dropped from the rest of india squad where selectors clearly indicated either he retire gracefully or he is going to be dropped,so he chose to retire and also announced his retirement before the start of the series so that he would not be dropped,so in a way he was forced into retirement.

Very sad day it will be. The 90's era batsmen I grew up watching are going. Imagine Tendulkar surprises everyone and retires. I think Indian fans would protest and make him reconsider.
I might even cry. He is my favorite player. :((
