Is he really the captain? he seems to be in his own world behind stumps and rest in their own.
Nope, all of them are in the same zone. Sachin,Dravid,Laxman and Sehwag at 1st sleep, 2nd sleep, 3rd sleep and the last one playing gully cricket should be blamed equally.

For the love of God, go now. On the verge of 7 consecutive away defeats and most of those have been thrashings - its like getting beaten 5-0 in football every match. Whatever legacy Dhoni thought he had in tests is in tatters. Other captains with much more limted resources do not look as hopeless as this one trick pony.
he never had a legacy of his own, it was borrowed from ganguly and now he's taken us back to the 90s.

2013 is too far away....MSD needs to give up test captaincy in Jan 2012. No joke. The body language in the team looks pathetic...our tail starts as soon as MSD walks in to bat. That's NOT how you inspire the team. His luck ran out....it's all over. He should focus on T20/ODI and that's where his heart lye...

Why the FU*K is he making these statements on the eve of a test match? I can understand if he says that after a series, but talking about retirement right in the middle of it? Test cricket is just a bloody joke for him....he doesn't give a sh*t any more.

This is a bit cowardly. We don't have a good enough wicketkeeper to replace him yet. He should continue until India re-emerge as a competitive team (at the very least) and then perhaps retire. Say what you want about Dhoni, he can still be a very formidable batsman and keeper.

SO? is it wrong to appreciate Dhoni? no matter what you say...he is the best wicketkeeper/batsman and captain for India ever...what r u gonna do about it...wont be able to change it... and yea I stand firm on Oldies retiring from every form of Cricket regardless of Dhoni retires or not...Oldies including Sachin... the times is now...continuos blaming everyone else including Dhoni is not gonna save their miserable run in recent past...they need to own up and retire with whatever grace thats left...

Slowly, everyone is seeing through the hoax of Dhoni in overseas tests. And I hope this is enough to jinx him.

Wtf is wrong with you? Every post of yours is about the "oldies" not matter what the thread is about. We get your point, kid. Now stop posting the same crap and go back to watching some circus league Tontee Tontee highlights.

Dhoni is not a test captain or even a die hard test player, his heart is not in it. Captains like Sobers, Brerley, Waugh, Khan, Pontin and even Vaughan were real test captains to whom the long form of the game was far more important than the shorter format ( not that Sobers played ODI's) If India want to be the best in world cricket then they need a test captain who loves playing tests IMHO

Sadly, that's not happening anytime soon. IPL still rules in India, and young players don't give a sh*t about test cricket. The likes of Asnodkar, Paul Valthaty and Manish Pandey would cringe at the very mention of tests

lol Ponting?? The guy was a pathetic test captain!! He just had a really good team for majority of his captaincy.

Sure Uncle... Please get over your hatred for 20/20 or ODI cricket to try to shield oldies...the more you try to avoid the problem and find scapegoats in dhonis n kohlis the more heartburns you will get... Fu.cking always shield the ageing unfit batsmen and keep on harping on why young crowd likes T20 or ODIs...just let young guys play Test cricket if you want more interest and better players to come up...

Slowly' date=' everyone is seeing through the hoax of Dhoni in overseas tests. And I hope this is enough to jinx him.[/quote'] Thats fine if Dhoni is not good enough as captain now. Lets put someone else in captainship and eventually make him also take care of such ageing side...and then eventually blame him for loosing with such unfit oldies who have no intensity to perform... He is still the best wk/batsman we have right now to be played in XI...

In ODIs, yes. In tests, I'm not so sure. After all, we won't know until we try someone else, will we. I would like to give Dinesh Karthik a go, he was solid in England in 2007. While he might not be as devastating as MSD on flat tracks, he does have a better technique against the quicks on friendly tracks. Let's give him a shot and move Viru down to no.6.
