The only change I would make to that line-up is replace Ojha with Ravindra Jadeja or Aaron (when fit)

Considering that we will be playing 2015 ODI WC in australia, we might have to develop a team which does not consist of FTBs and all ATGs who stabilize innings in ODIs have been solid test players. so it goes without saying that the fondation of our ODI team comes from proven test performers. I would put him and Indian fans out of misry by dropping him.. its now proven that any TDH can score on flat tracks and our spinners get us back into the game in subcontinent. Now its outside india where we are found wanting. We really need to bring some drastic actions. Sehwag has looked woefully out if form.. i care a damn if he scores a 200 in a flat as a NCR highway track in Rajkot with 60-70 yard boundaries where edges get mistaken for sixers. This time YOU ARE OUT Dravid and laxman - retire gracefully. we care a damn if you save us the perth test or whatever, but get out. if you cannot win us a series in australia or south africa we dont need any more of the bull*****.. i am sure india B team can also perform in subcontinent. Dhoni - super succesful in ODI and T20s. look extremely disinterested playing in tests. Its as if you dont care about it and feel the game is dead. But sadly the true class is here and we fans believe it will survive. We need a aggressive catain in tests and not someone with shoddy technique. Please go Dhoni. Ishant - Its proven that you are the first criketer in the world who has played more than 40 test internationals and has no brain. I could replace you with the dumbest bowling machine and the result would be the same if not better. Vinay koomarrr ---> you are a trier dude, but sadly test cricket is no place for passenger trains.. its about the shatabdis here. so keep toiling away in ranji and IPl. that leaves us with 3 spots for batsmen , 2 bowlers and 1 Wk/batsman. Rohit Pujara Rahane come in by default for all these spots Once sachin retires Mukund comes in. If Gambhir looks lost Badri or Manoj Tiwari come in. Aaron/ Abu Nechim should be drafted and sent to county along with Umesh yadav. let them not play ODIs for next 6 months. our trundlers can manage without them for time being. Sreesanth/RP Singh/ Irfan Pathan should also go through six month rigorous reconditioning program Pack off ishant to county. Let him discover his true potential/ lack of there. No ODI or tests for him for next one year. Pankaj singh/ manpreet Gony/ sudip tyagi/ rituraj singh/ harshal patel / suyal should be our fast bowling reserves and should have special training programmes and exchange tours.

Anyway to summarise Sree's captaincy credentials: -Able to motivate players -Able to offer emotional support -Spiritually wise, master of his body and soul, he understands himself so can understand what it takes to help the team and players. -He will be an aggressive Captain like he is an aggressive player. Attacking fields, he will bowl longer spells himself which will help us e.t.c. Terrify opponents. -Has been around long enough and pefect age-28. -Jayawardene said that Sree would have made a good Kochi Tuskers Kerala coach -Prasanth and Gony are two limited bowlers who play for Kerala in ranji. Both took a lot of wickets and said the presence, coaching from Sree was the reason. Santh despite being injured with toe injury would egg on the players from the sidelines. Gauti and Viru are tactically naive and out of form. Dravid, Tendu and Lax have all had a go. Apart from ZK, Sree has no other contender. Kumble was good for us when we had split captaincy. Sree will be better.

Sehwag should be dropped also. He's a FTB who can't cut it outside the subcontinent. He doesn't even have the excuse of being past it. Get rid of the big 3, Sehwag and keep Dhoni as one day captain only.

Let's be realistic, will anyone have the balls to drop the seniors? On this forum itself, we get a first hand view of what the common freshie thinks. Tendulkar 100, Dravid, lax man, all get their dicks sucked off by these adoring fans no matter what they do. Ppl make excuses for the failures of younger players yet they find a way to justify the failures of their favourite heroes. The selectors are very much of the same mindset. They fawn over meaningless stats, never hesitate to remind you how many runs xyz has scored, how much EKSHPERIENSH they have. They give the public what it wants, and don't have the balls to make hard decisions. India carried Dravid for 4 years of run drought, before that they carried tendulkar for a previous 3 years of run drought, and after 4-0 whitewash in England, there was no clearing of the dead wood. I just can't shake off the feeling that nothing will be done and we might well see the same side failing at home about 8 months from now.

This. And as expected, most of the people here will ignore such comment/response. Everybody is trying to find an excuse and justify how Sachin(and/or other ATGs) should keep on playing on and on/And they constantly keep calling every young guy a FTB and what not so that they can never take over the oldies. When these di.ck suck.ing fans keep on doing it again n again at the cost of our team loosing, its pointless to expect anything from selectors or management or anyone else. They are doing what these di.ckhead fans actually want. Tragedy of Indian cricket. Respect for your post Sir. Had lost complete hope of finding any genuine fans around on this forum.

I know the match is a lost cause, but Dhoni's captaincy today was actually pretty good. He got the right bowlers at the right time and also was not defensive. Maybe, having Umesh yadav also bowling well along with Zak gave him the kaanfidence. He tried to ease in Vinay Koomar as well at times but he simply is not good enough.

The problem is our players simply can't adapt to the conditions/bigger grounds in Australia, England and South Africa. The only solution to this is to make our domestic cricket more competitive and prepare more lively pitches. We also need to produce more quick bowlers like Yadav and Aaron. There's no doubt MSD's captaincy has been way too defensive but the captain's only as good as his team, he simply doesn't have the resources to win in these countries.

Sree as new Captain in all formats of the game. Dravid and Lax should be told to retire and Viru/Ishant dropped. Viru may make comeback. Yadav and Ashwin to be kept in squad.

I am also a fan of Dravid and usually prays for Sree to keep a cool mind when he's bowling. But Sree as captain? That's taking it far.:winky:
