They must go!

Here are the folks I would like to see go... 1. Srinivasan, Manohar and the likes - Conflict of interest as he owns IPL franchise and leads BCCI 2. Sharad Pawar - Don't really know how politics is a pre-requisite to be a cricket administrator, especially going by the way he handled the food & agriculture ministry while farmers were committing suicide and the food prices were sky rocketin. The chap is an utter and total failure and should not be anywhere near Indian cricket 3. Srikkanth - major breach of conflict of interest. Firstly being on the payroll of an IPL franchise and head of selectors, and secondly selecting his crappy son for India A when his son can't even make it to Ranji squad for his state. 4. BCCI administrators - For putting too much emphasis on shorter format & IPL, scrapping A tours to other nations and not being bothered about scheduling major away series without any prep/lead time. 5. Team management & coaches - Pray tell me what Fletcher, Eric Simons etc. can do what any of us can't? Waste of money and freeloaders who should be kicked out ASAP. 6. Senior players - It's time up for Dravid, Laxman and Dravid. If this is what "experience" gets us I am fine with youngsters like Rohit, Rahane, Mukund who are riding the bench. With no away tours for the next 2 years, retirees should be forced out. 7. Captain - Dhoni shouldn't be around as a Test captain or even as a Test player. He is a great player in shorter formats, especially odis. Let him focus on that.

Dhoni to go and can't play/captain tests? It was just a few months back that you were arguing that he is better than Gilchrist and that he was the first person you'd pick in our team. Judging by the million threads today, it looks like OTT reactions is your thing. Dhoni is no Gilchrist, nor is he the sole reason for our defeats now (like some - not you - are making it appear).

I mentioned if Dhoni and India continue to perform the way he did for the next few years, i.e. before Eng series when we were ranked 1, he would be in discussion as an all time keeper batsman especially since he was the captain. But 7 consecutive away losses is not OTT reaction - it's something that needs to be done to liven the team again. Dhoni brings value to shorter formats, especially odis, and focus on that specifically the world cup in 2015.

Say goodbye to some senior players, says Sunil Gavaskar "What India now need to do very, very quickly is to look forward and not backward. If it unfortunately means that we have to say goodbye to some of the players who have served the country for so long and so wonderfully, that we have to do," Gavaskar said when asked where Indian cricket was going after the team was bundled out for 161 in the third Test against Australia in Perth on Friday. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/cricket/series-tournaments/india-in-australia/top-stories/Say-goodbye-to-some-senior-players-says-Sunil-Gavaskar/articleshow/11477932.cms

What? MS scored a half century in last match when rest folded in the first innings. He should remain test wicketkeeper batsmen and play his natural game. But his captaincy days should be gone.
No point since the team is in rebuild mode. Dhoni is far more valuable in the shorter formats and that's what he should focus on to increase his shelf life. I would rather he play the 2015 WC than play all formats and retire before the WC.

Well we shouldn't cut down Dhoni's matches just to prolong his career in ODI's. He is not 36 like Kallis and played as many games...even Kallis doesn't want to cut down. Dhoni is lazy (barely 30 years old) and if he wants to quit before WC then he can do. But while he is a contracted player and fit he should play all formats and take reasonable breaks.

The sad part is that we have regressed as the series has gone with scores of 281' date=' 191 and 161 in the 1st innings of the 3 tests, with Ashwin looking our most competent batsman.[/quote'] I can't figure out how we have gone downhill so quick. Culling players may not be the answer. Need to plan how to play test cricket, we seem to just turn up. Need a new coach for this. We don't make counter plans e.t.c

You gotta remember Dhoni is a wicket keeper and is actively involved throughout the game. It's not the same thing as standing in the slips like Dravid or Laxman. Keeping takes a lot out of your body especally if you play all formats. You have to be realistic and can't expect Dhoni to play for long if he continues to play all 3 formats and at the moment Tests is his weakest suit.

Add Rajiv Shukla to that list Politicians and businessmen will never give up their hold of Indian sports .There is money to be made. For example Abhay Singh Chautala and Ajay Singh Chautala have been Presidents of Indian Amateur Boxing Federation and the Table Tennis Federation of India for years !!

This is bs sorry. Kallis bowls and carries the SA attack doing the hard yards. Dhoni has had enough for cricket I think, that is the real reason. He has won the wc, maybe he is happy with that.
