Old guy Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Yes i remember your thread where you said he will be different bowler with his new action and going ga ga over it ,I had also said that time without the inswing he will not be successful. Regarding pace he was always 130-140 even in southafrica so your facts are wrong you can check it on youtube,Ishant himself said he tried to copy zaheer so i do not see prasad faults and more ever prasad was not there after 2009 t20 world cup. in south africa he was bowling in 130's lower 130's
Needforspeed Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 why not akram?.....ideal combo of speed & swing...really think he can help our bowlers... Political issues. Akram will not be able to concentrate on his job. If the results are bad Indian supporters will accuse him of trying to bring down Indian cricket. On ICF I can visualise someone starting a thread. ' Wasim Akram should be removed and he should be nowhere near the Indian team'. If India do well, the Pakistani supporters will accuse him of being a traitor or a RAW agent. Tough balancing act for him. Being Indian coach will not be the same as being KKR coach.

vishalvirsingh Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 At this point there is no major iSsue with ishant he needs to just see where to pitch the ball..when he bowls full it becomes too full and when he bowls his usual length its a bit short and gives the batsman some time to save himslef...... So he has sorted the major issue and increased his pace..I bet his pitching issue is too simple to be resolved....it wl happen once he bowls a bit more on NETS...no major worries guys....he will be our major wicket Taker and finally he will be our main striker not UMESH. Reason he has height and he is now getting the right physique too.....Count on him, Support him.

vishalvirsingh Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Yes Zak is about to retire so he shud be duly trusted with bowling Coach n player duty now and with in next 12 months he will only remain a bowling coach from a Player.... I bet nobody is as good as ZAk..even akram or Kapil

vishalvirsingh Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Ishant is not in full form where as Umesh is at the peak of his career with good pace swing n line n length - I agree as on today Umesh is way better than Ishu... Leave Ishu I expect Umesh to take maximum wickets in next Test and kinda beat Zak and hilfy to become leading wicket taker.....I just hope Dhoni gives him good chance to BOWL

express bowling Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Not exactly' date='Ishant was doing pretty well till the t20 world cup in england,Yes his pace had dropped but he was 135-140km/h and still had the swing and the legcutter but after that he hs lost leg cutter and swing and gained pace and look at his performance, pace alone will do you no good without movement at international level.[/quote'] Ishant is still getting reasoanable movement. He is failing because he is bowling very bad and inconsistent lines. He is not bowling in the channel of uncertainty. Lots of wide deliveries outside off and some down the leg side. He is not making the batsman play and giving too much width. With such inaccuracy he will not get wickets no matter what his speed or movement because the batsman does not have to play him at all. I don't think I have seen anybody bowl such wrong lines ever. It is not as if he is spraying the ball all over the place. he is deliberately bowling wide... god knows why ? Siddle and Pattinson are not getting large movements either like Hilfy is getting ; but getting reasonable movement like Ishant. They are still getting wickets because they have bowled a wonderful line and length at pace.

express bowling Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 agree and htis new kid yadav is already trying to ball fuller..he should learn form him! He should. Yadav is a quicker learner than Ishant and learns from his mistakes. He bowled badly in Sidney but rectified his mistakes somewhat in Perth. Ishant does not use his head at all and refuses to learn.

You bring up a good point. Ishant is very predictable and rarely does anything to surprise the batsmen. An inaccurate bowler cannot afford to be so. If you are predictable then accuracy is the only way out. Umesh is often inaccurate but always surprises and unsettles the batsmen.

( all of which he still posesses and should improve further ) + accuracy and planning batsmen's dismissals. I hope he stays fit.
chainsmoker1985 Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 I choose option 3 WRONG, :poink: right answer is OPTION 4. Next question, what should Ishant Sharma do to take wickets... 1. Vaishno Devi ja ke mannat maange. 2. Get some tips fro katrina kaif. 3. Pitch the ball up to the batsmen. 4. Come around the wicket to the batsmen and crap them for room and then cutting the ball away. Good luck, if you pass this question, you will be selected

Magneto Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 2. Katrina might give him some tips on how to bowl over 'maidens' overseas. And once he can bowl over maidens, the batsmen will get suffocated and throw away their wickets.
