Definitely. But why say this during a series in Australia. I know he is patriotic and hardworking but these comments were the ones of a sore loser. He is saying he is basically suggesting we are incapable of playing in seaming conditions. International batsmen should be able to play everywhere, especially ones of a team aspiring to be No.1, don't you think? and please stop the trash talk, don't be an internet tough guy (no hate).
Huhh do u have some comprehension issues or just had too much last night..wth kinda statement is this
He is saying he is basically suggesting we are incapable of playing in seaming conditions.
Now what r u blabbering in that quote. He is just saying that just like England, Aus make green pitches(they have better fast bowlers), we should have spinning pitches cuz we have better spinners.

Gambhir wants india to beat these countries on turners and we do prepare turners..thats why our spinners bcom deadly some times and take 5 wickets often..these same bowlers cant do anything on foreign tracks. Aswhwin is probably the BEST Spinner Inda has as on today and most of you will agree to me but he is flopping out there..........Ojha is quite close to Ashwin but i bet if he plays he will also FLOP. west india was a no 1 team as they had the best battery of pace bowling and some batsmen who could score some runs of pace bowlers......same about australia, even today england is trying for that position, if india wants to be no 1 india has to focus on handling fAST BOWLERS..GROMMING THEM and teaching there batsman how to handle fast bowlers. My respect for Sachin, VVS and dravid is no where close to what it was before...it seems they also suck to FAST BOWLERS and play spinners like GODS.
Yea right and that is why we all, including former cricketers keep crying for sporting or pacy, bouncier tracks for our domestic matches. Then only we can produce cricketers from whom we can expect winning in abroad in future. Otherwise, the story will remain same, every time we go abroad, everytime we are going to be rattled like this. And unfortunately, our governing bodies are not learning at all, they again prepared an absolute dead track for Ranji Finals. Well what else can you expect from our board. On your last point, I want 2 add, that Sachin, VVS and Dravid are such a huge figure in our cricket, especially Sachin. Its like if Sachin will say anything, it will definitely be heard. But, Sachin has never come out and asked to prepare sporting and bouncier tracks for our domestic matches. I mean, if Sachin will ask, no-one can over-turn him

Bottom line is, India can never consistently win in NZ, England, SA and Australia if they are pathetic against pace, it will be the 90's all over again. There's no future in them producing ridiculous turners at home, just like there's no future in Australia or England producing crazy green tops that last 2 days, which they rarely do anyway. Ive read lots of quite sane comments by Indian fans saying how good the pitches have been, and they have been good, India was 2/200 in Melbourne before being blown away, no way the SCG was green - Clarke could never score a 200 in green conditions, let alone a 300. India's bowling has been worse than woeful, obviously, no consistency at all. Zaheer can't bowl from both ends. India is quite capable of processing good wickets for both batsmen and spinners at home, there have been many tests over the past 10 years that have been fine, neither flat or raging turners. What annoys me is Gambhir seems to be equating these Aussie pitches to a raging turner In India, when its not even close to that, he seems to want minefields at home, but he has yet to experience a true green top overseas, he would crap his pants if he was subjected to a series like in NZ in 02/03, they were green tops for sure.

Once these people come to India we should not be hesitant in making turners, and that's where we would get to know whether they are mentally strong and [what happens to] the kind of chit-chat they do when we go overseas and they talk about our techniques.
 Gambhir sounds like a 5 year old girl complaining about the teasing from the bullies in the playground.

I can already see the formula... Test match 1: A bigger dustbowl than 1930s Kansas, with an Indian series win pinned on the touring team failing to adjust. Test match 2: Road. Draw. Test match 3: Road. Draw. If there are more than 3 tests scheduled, test match 2 becomes another dustbowl, with the remainder of the series prepared as tarmac.

Gambhir's timing is all wrong. Now it sounds clearly like he is whining. He should have waited till the English and Aussies came to India and lost on our pitches, and waited for the inevitable comments on the pitches from them. Then he could have said what he said and it would have sounded as if the English and the Aussies were whining.
