This is a very key position in Test cricket. Have we found the right guy. Rahane, Pujara in the running. Who else we have. Whatever happened to Manish Pandey? India's no.3 batsmen list

pujara ..cos u will need to handle new ball many times in swinging conditions and u need some one willing to stay there face of best opposition bowlers and then also carry on and make a big one ..kohli can do it to just like tendulkar can but he is mire suited at no 4 being much more aggressive..rahane too i think can fit into top order,rohit at no 5 hope they get to play in next series

For me its btw Pujara and Rahane.No.3 should be more defensive minded and put more value on their wicket. Kohli and Rohit should bat at no.4 and 5 as they are more attack minded and can take full use of the old ball. P.S. Manish Pandey has been pretty consistent and among the top scorers in Ranji for last 2 seasons.Started this season excellently too including a ton against Mumbai in Mumbai but was injured a month into the Ranji season and ruled out for the rest of the season.

this line up is solid but why do u need sure flop at no 6? im talking abt sehwag don know abt pandey. and why play rohit at such low positon he def deserves no 5 maybe we need to let gambhir go :winky:

Rohit should bat No. 4 and Kohli at No. 5 imo Kohli has good temperment to come later in the order and still provide decent results. Pujara should be No. 3

For me no.6 should have a solid technique similar to no.3 batsmen since more often than not 2nd new ball will be taken when no.6 is at the crease.At the same time he should have the ability to accelerate as he will be often asked to shepherd the tail.In my view Rohit is the best suited to both these scenarios and hence best no.6 position.

We play Most of our cricket at home,We need a guy who can play spin and reverse swing well, Rohit and kohli are top order players No 6 can be taken by raina .

Raina can do pretty well in the subcontinent. Plus, this team lacks a genuine big-hitter and Raina can easily take the attack to the spinners.
