The attitude of the players and the board is infuriating and frustrating the cricket fans so much that the Board better arrange for additional security for the players during the IPL.

When they do however retire, pension will be given in the form of life liong celebrity. If a sportsman wants to be respected, he must be retire when he is at the top of the game, else he may have to face the brickbats. After retirement of course, since they are no longer a liability to the nation, they will be respected for their past acheivements.:winky:

But suppose our fathers try to act like youngsters and go around in 1000 cc bikes with his hair streaked and colored, wearing faded jeans, dancing around in a night club, can we accept such behaviour just because thery are our parents? Sooner or later aging happens in everyone and it is an irreversible process. So, we expect our ATGs to act their age, retire from Test Cricket & play in some veteran's tournament or Celebrity cricket league or even the IPL. They had their time..their faculties have slowed them and now let them enjoy their old age. God bless them and let us wish them a happy retired life.

If they feel they can perform at the highest level, you can't punch them in the face and make them sign a document saying they shall never ever play domestic/international cricket. Its the job of the selectors to select the best team and they weren't far off before the tour started. Maybe they should have groomed a couple more juniors, although Pujara was injured and Rohit didn't get a game for some reason. What does all that have to do with whether Dravid/Laxman retires or not ? Do they control the beam from the death star that shall be unleashed on the team if they were dropped ?

Dravid, the senior was the only one to fight it out in England and before the series started and we had been very competitive in almost every series since 2006 if not winning them. The seniors were the same all these years, seniors no doubt.

He said, "I am not saying India didn't bat appallingly (in the just-concluded Test series), but this has been one of the best bowling performances by Australia.
